Stan Zbornak was wonderfully portrayed by the late Herb Edelman. Initially, Edelman planned on being a veterinarian but dropped out of school after only a year to serve as a radio announcer with the U.S. Army. While driving a taxi in NYC, Edelman was given his big break by Mike Nichols who cast him in the Broadway show "Barefoot in the Park".
