Stan Zbornak was wonderfully portrayed by the late Herb Edelman. Initially, Edelman planned on being a veterinarian but dropped out of school after only a year to serve as a radio announcer with the U.S. Army. While driving a taxi in NYC, Edelman was given his big break by Mike Nichols who cast him in the Broadway show "Barefoot in the Park".

The bumbling Howard Bannister was played by Don Adams, who starred in the shows "Get Smart" as Maxwell Smart and "Inspector Gadget" as the voice of Inspector Gadget. "Check It Out" was based on a British sitcom called "Trippers Day" and aired in syndication all over the world.

Randy Hickey was played by Ethan Suplee and the show, about a petty criminal on a mission to change his karma, ran on NBC from 2005-2009. During it's run, the show had a long, long list of notable guest stars including Betty White, Johnny Galecki and Burt Reynolds.

Although the show ended in 2009, "Corner Gas" remains one of Canada's most popular TV sitcoms. During its run, it won six Gemini awards and was nominated for over seventy other awards. Wanda Dollard was played by Nancy Robertson, who ended up marrying series creator Brent Butt in real life.

After "Corner Gas", Butt and Robertson starred in the short lived sitcom "Hiccups", about a children's writer with anger management issues.
