Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first episode, "Chuck vs. The Intersect", Chuck is in his Nerd Herd station as Sarah Walker enters the store. He is pretending to scratch a record saying a comic book character's name. What is the name of that comic book character?

Answer: Vicki Vale

We learn in the first episode that Chuck is a true geek with his affinity for "Tron", "Star Wars", and comic books. When his friend Morgan says Vicki Vale as Sarah enters the Buy More, Chuck starts his scratch rap using her name and is shocked out of his "performance" once Sarah is right in front of him.
2. In episode two, "Chuck vs. The Helicopter", the plot centers around a doctor familiar with the intersect trying to remove it from his brain. However, we discover that the doctor is more interested in selling Chuck to the highest bidder. During this time there is a significant subplot brewing. Which of the following situations is the subplot for this episode?

Answer: The lack of trust that exists between Chuck, Sarah, and Casey.

At this point in the show, all Chuck really wants is to have the intersect removed from his brain so he can have a regular life. However, he also has to deal with both Sarah and Casey casting suspicion on one another about who is really on Chuck's side and who might be trying to hurt him.
3. Why is episode 4 titled "Chuck vs The Wookie"?

Answer: The villain of the story is a man who is so hairy that Chuck refers to him as a Wookie.

The villain of this story, Peyman Alahi, iss played by Iqbal Theba, who is also the principal on the show "Glee". It is the hair covering his body that inspires Chuck to refer to him as the Wookie. This is just one of the many "Star Wars" jokes used on this show.
4. In episode 6, "Chuck vs. The Sandworm", Sarah gives Chuck a "picture" of themselves at a comic convention to help establish their cover relationship. What two characters are they dressed as in this picture?

Answer: Han Solo and Princess Leia

This picture causes Chuck a lot of anxiety. He is starting to have significant feelings for Sarah and this picture is a reminder to him of how fake his relationship really is. At the end of the episode though they take a picture of him in regular clothes and Sarah in a Princess Leia costume so that he has something real to hold onto.
5. In episode 7, "Chuck vs. The Alma Mater", Chuck heads back to Stanford to look for something. However, he isn't the only one looking for it and Chuck becomes the target of assassins. Chuck, who has just found the list of covert agents attending Stanford, calls them up and gives them a code word. What is that code word?

Answer: "Are you coming to the toga party?"

This is the episode where Chuck's disdain for Bryce Larkin is greatly lessened as he finds out that Bryce got Chuck kicked out of school in order to protect him. The CIA was on the verge of recruiting him and Bryce didn't feel Chuck would fit that kind of life so he framed him for cheating on a test and then for good measure stole his girlfriend, giving Chuck no viable reason to stay at Stanford.
6. In episode 8, "Chuck vs The Truth", what does Chuck want Sarah to tell him while they are still under the control of the truth serum?

Answer: He wants to know if they have a chance at a real relationship.

Even though Sarah says there is no chance for a relationship, she does let something slip in the last moments of the episode that indicates she has built up a resistance to truth serum. Unfortunately, Chuck doesn't hear this and decides that it is time to move on from Sarah and initiates a fake break up of their fake relationship.
7. In episode 9, "Chuck vs. The Imported Hard Salami", two significant events occur. The first is they find out that Bryce Larkin is still alive. What is the other significant event?

Answer: Sarah kisses Chuck.

Sarah is convinced that both she and Chuck are about to die from a bomb blast when she grabs Chuck and kisses him. When the device doesn't explode she feels very awkward, but it provides Chuck with a great deal of hope about him and Sarah getting together.
8. In episode 10, "Chuck vs The Nemesis", Bryce speaks what language in order to ask Chuck if he is wearing a bulletproof vest?

Answer: Klingon

Chuck is being held hostage by a bad guy and Bryce wants to know if he is wearing a bulletproof vest so that he can shoot Chuck and get him out of harm's way. Bryce, who is also in love with Sarah, asks her to go away with him at the end of the episode leaving her to choose between him and Chuck.
9. In episode 11, "Chuck vs. The Crown Vic", what is the social experience that Morgan is stressed about?

Answer: He is meeting Anna's parents.

Morgan has a very rough time dealing with Anna's parents. He tries to make himself into something he isn't and does it very poorly. There is even a moment while aboard a yacht where Morgan reenacts the scene from Titanic where he plays the role of Rose and stretches his arms out over the bough.
10. Episode 13, "Chuck vs. The Marlin", is the final episode of season 1. What happens during this episode that prompts the government to think about removing Chuck from his own life and bring him in to CIA custody so that they can keep the intersect safe?

Answer: They find bugs in the Buy More which puts Chuck's cover at risk.

When Chuck finds out that he may never see his friends or family again, he begins to panic. He cannot imagine his life without them and is extremely relieved when he finds out that the information from the bugs did not get into the hands of Fulcrum.
