With Joey's help while her boyfriend Bodie was away, Bessie ran the Icehouse, a popular waterfront restaurant.

Mitch Leery is Dawson's father. After learning of his wife's infidelity, Mitch felt he was forced to divorce her, and for a while it felt right. With Gale following her career, Mitch started his once more, putting his dreams on hold.
