Andy Griffith appears in the season four episode "A Winter's Tale" as an old friend of Mr. Brooks. The two of them had a falling out after he stole Mr. Brooks' girlfriend when they were younger. Dawson meets Eve Whitman in the third season when he is returning to Capeside from spending the summer with his mother in Philadelphia. She causes him to crash Mitch's boat into the pier. Later Eve throws a party for Dawson, but there are strippers at the party and Mitch comes home.

It is later revealed that Eve is looking for her mother, which turns out to also be Jen Lindley's mother.
