"Dead Set" - Charlie Brooker's Masterpiece Quiz

The premise was that the cast of "Big Brother" had been isolated within a closed away set. This set, sealed off from outside contact, ends up being the central setting of the series.

Answer: Nicotine gum

This ends up briefly being touched on later in the show, but Patrick is a recovering smoker trying to quit. This nicotine gum he seems to run out of is symbolic of this fact.

Answer: Angel

This eventually sends Angel into shock before she dies a long, agonizing death. Her shift into becoming a zombie ends up being poorly handled, causing the death of Grayson when Angel reanimates and attacks him.

Answer: Davina McCall

Curiously, she was also portrayed in "Dead Set"'s reimagining, "Reality Z", by a different actress despite the fact a different show from "Big Brother" is used in that series. Here, Davina meets her end as a zombie passerby casually rips her throat out and kills her.

Sadly, Angel did not survive long enough for their efforts to matter - neither did Grayson for that matter. Additionally, Space is apprehended by two police officers who eventually die as well - one is bit by a zombie and immediately executed by his partner, while his partner is also overwhelmed by zombies as Kelly steals his weapon and cripples him, thinking he was going to shoot Danny if she didn't act first.

Answer: Patrick

Patrick and Pippa do eventually escape the break room and venture into the production studio, but they are surrounded and forced to stay inside by a handful of zombies just outside of them. Patrick pleads for the cast to come to their rescue once he has access to the monitor.

Answer: No

Angry, Patrick decides to close the shutters, sealing them in and preventing them from leaving their dining room. He also plays a very loud sound using the production board, attracting more undead to their gates, and continues to do so until they finally agree to rescue him.

Answer: Distract them

Patrick's grotesque idea is to cut up the remains of Grayson's corpse, scoop them into a bucket, pour them all over the ground near the huge horde of zombies, then drive past them while they're distracted. This predictably fails quite badly.

Answer: Joplin

Patrick successfully manipulates Joplin, convincing him that the others hate him and would look to him as death fodder after doing so with Patrick. Joplin quietly unties him, steals an assault rifle, and helps Patrick hold the group at gunpoint so he can carry out his plan.

Answer: No

Patrick's plan goes horribly awry, resulting in the immediate death of Joplin. As zombies rush towards the team fleeing to return to the production studio, they catch up to Patrick and rip him apart, literally ripping his head off his body and dissecting his organs from his body.

Not too long after, a stream of zombies advance into the formerly isolated shelter and violently tear up Marky and Veronica, leaving only Space trapped in the production studio, bitten and doomed for death, and Kelly stuck inside a small room, barred in by metallic shutters which are surrounded by endless zombies. Kelly attempts to fight her way through the horde, but seeing as how she merely has a knife and has at least two or three dozen zombies in a condensed space, this clearly doesn't go her way and she is overwhelmed easily.

This leaves Space to slowly die an agonizing death, as both end up reanimating to end the season off.
