Those, such as David, who are suited to the Sky, are sent to Canyon City for Skybax training. Those who are suited to the Sea, work on the beaches with dolphins and other marine creatures.

Karl finds a wooden boat on the beach. He also obtains a map from Cyrus in return for the sunstone on the roof of the Vidabba Hatchery. However, Cyrus isn't the friendly man he appears to be. When Karl leaves his boat unattended, Cyrus uses a metal spike to make holes in the wood, causing the boat to sink when it enters the water. To make things worse, Twenty-Six follows Karl to the beach and almost drowns. To top it off, Karl is arrested for not only trying to leave Dinotopia but also for the theft of the Hatchery's sunstone.
