Lucy Jackson, Arnold and Willis' mother, was Mr. Drummond's housekeeper. When she found out she was dying she asked him to take in the boys. In the first episode, Arnold was ecstatic with his new living condition while Willis was a little reserved and skeptical.

He planned to move Arnold and himself back to Harlem to live with some friends. Mr. Drummond and Arnold convinced him that he wasn't being fair to their mother, since that was her last request.

Mr. Drummond punished Arnold with a spanking, but actually Willis did it. He believed that only a blood relative should preserve discipline. He felt bad about it afterwards.

Too Tall Jones of the Dallas Cowboys also made an appearance.

Mr. Drummond was taking the kids and Tootie from The Facts Of Life to an amusement park. Arnold and Willis went in the bank so Arnold can pay his own way for him and Tootie. two thieves held the bank up and held them, and Mr. Drummond, hostage.The thieves first mistake: They wouldn't let Kimberly or Tootie in the bank so they got suspicious and called the police. That's when they held everyone hostage. Second mistake: When they ordered lunch for everyone, they told the police to put it in the night depository. That gave Arnold the idea to sneak the keys in there when the thieves were not looking.
7. Where was Mr. Drummond about to take the family when he was in a car accident and suffered from amnesia?

Answer: Disney World

It was Mr. Drummond's 50th birthday and he was taking the family and Adelaide to Disneyworld for the weekend. On his way to the travel agency he had a head-on collision with a drunk driver, who was instantly killed. Mr. Drummond was in a coma but when he came to he couldn't remember anything or anybody. He regained his memory, the family resumed his birthday and rescheduled the trip.

Dudley's father had lost his job and he was afraid the authorities would put him in a foster home. Arnold wanted Dudley to stay with him until his father got back on his feet. Dudley eventually apologized to his father for the lie and Mr. Drummond even offered him a job at his office.

A Korean man came over claiming his mother, who Mr. Drummond knew when he fought in the war, told him Mr. Drummond fathered him. The truth was her tent leader raped her and hid the truth from him all those years. She finally told him.

Two teenage bullies were stealing Arnold and Dudley's lunch and making them pay $2.00 a day so they wouldn't beat them up. Willis went to straighten them out but they were too tough for him. Arnold used his tape recorder to frame them and get them put in jail.

The kidnapper's wife was so devastated by the death of their son he only wanted her to feel better. He threatened to kill Sam's family if he tried to escape. Sam called the house and talked to Arnold. Mr. Drummond and the police tracked the number down and rescued Sam.
