"Faerie Tale Theater": "Cinderella" Quiz

He died of an unknown cause while abroad so a messenger came to deliver the message. Cinderella answered the door and took the letter but hadn't had time to open it when her stepmother snatched it out of her hands.

Stepmother was handing out chores to Cinderella, Arlene and Bertha. Cinderella was given the tasks of: cooking, cleaning, general and miscellaneous chores. Bertha was given the tasks of: bathing, maintaining an attractive appearance and brushing her own hair. Arlene was given the tasks of: relaxing, wearing fashionable clothes and occasionally answering the door.

But when Arlene complained of the chore Stepmother quickly gave the chore to Cinderella.

Edgar came to the house to pay a call on Cinderella, having been in school with her before. He came bearing a bouquet of flowers only to be told by Arlene and Bertha that she was dead. Cinderella finally came into the room to find out a childhood friend Edgar had stopped by. Bertha claimed he was there to ask her (Bertha) out and Arlene said he hated her (Cinderella) guts.

After the ball for Prince Henry was announced all the ladies of the land got ready. Arlene was pulling on the corset strings as tight as she could. Bertha was complaining she wouldn't be able to breathe.

She found a pumpkin and asked Cinderella if they were hollow so she and Cinderella hollowed out the pumpkin and it was changed into a glorious coach. Next they hunted for three mice but one got away and the remaining two were changed into horses. The third thing was a rat who was changed into a coachman.

The last thing changed was ragged and soot covered Cinderella to a glittering princess complete with glass slippers as a bonus.

Prince Henry had been cornered by Arlene and Bertha and tried to leave only to be cornered by Stepmother. Then suddenly all talking, dancing and music stopped as Cinderella suddenly appeared. They danced several times before Cinderella rushed off to get home before midnight.

Prince Henry wanted another ball for the following day but the King was tired and suggested a week before the next ball. He then said to leave the decorations up to save money.

Fairy Godmother claimed to have lost her magical powers only for her to say, "Gotcha!" Then Cinderella said when, after getting the pumpkin, mice and rat and herself changed, she claimed to have broken the glass slippers.

When Cinderella fled the second ball, she left a glass slipper behind. Prince Henry and the messenger went to the ladies of the court, the countryside and beyond.

Arlene and Bertha tried on the slipper only for it to be too small for their feet. Then Cinderella suggested she try it on causing Stepmother, Arlene and Bertha to laugh. Prince Henry asked, "What's so funny?" Stepmother replied, "It's just Cinderella. She's nothing but a nothing." He said, "Madame it takes one, as they say, to know one."
