Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At one point a tour bus carrying a boy band breaks down in front of the Griffin's home, much to Meg's delight. What band stepped out of the bus?

Answer: Hanson

This is seen in a flashback in the episode "Chitty Chitty Death Bang." When the three brothers step off the bus, Peter mistakes them for the "Children of the Corn" and he shoots them dead.
2. Peter is absolutely addicted to television and he has numerous favorite shows, including "Star Trek." Which of the following is another one of his favorites?

Answer: "The Facts of Life"

There are at least four references to "The Facts of Life" throughout the series, including the very memorable moment in "Family Guy Viewer Mail #1" when Peter turned himself into Mrs. Garrett's bosom. Another one of Peter's favorite shows is "CHiPs."
3. In my first quiz I asked the first name of Mr. Pewterschmidt, Lois' father. What is her mother's first name?

Answer: Barbara

Alex Borstein, who provides the voice of Lois, also does the voice of Barbara Pewterschmidt. One time that we hear her first name mentioned is right before the debate in "Running Mates."
4. What color are the pants that Peter is almost always wearing?

Answer: dark green

There are very few times when Peter is wearing something other than his standard white shirt and dark green pants. Those times are usually when he is dressed up for a special occasion, or when he is wearing nothing at all.
5. In "Brian: Portrait of a Dog," we see Meg and Chris sitting in front of a collection of fans trying to cool down. Meg is angry that Chris is "hogging up all the fans." Chris responds to his sister by saying "Yeah, well you're hogging up all the ______!"

Answer: ugly

This is one of my favorite quotes from the whole series! In this episode, Quahog is going through a tremendous heatwave and the family asks Brian to participate in a dog show so that they can buy a new air conditioner with his winnings. He earns no winnings, and he is nearly executed for his behavior.
6. What mythological beast is seen in "I Never Met the Dead Man?"

Answer: Bigfoot

This is right after Peter knocks out the Quahog cable television transmitter and an angry mob is approaching him and Meg. He makes a failed attempt to divert attention away from himself by pointing out that Bigfoot is standing right there.
7. Who has sea monkeys in his or her room?

Answer: Chris

We see them in "Let's Go To The Hop." They wear clothes, speak English, and eat off of plates and they get extremely upset when Chris pounds on the glass. (Brian doesn't even have his own room.)
8. In the opening credits we at first see Peter and Lois sitting at the piano singing, a la "All In the Family." Finish the following lyric from their song: "But where are those good ol' fashioned values on which we ______ ___ ______?"

Answer: used to rely

"It seems today that all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV. But where are those good ol' fashioned values on which we used to rely? Lucky there's a family guy! Lucky there's a man who positively can do all the things that make us laugh 'n' cry! He's a family guy!"
9. The portraits of the three Griffin children hang in a horizontal row on the wall in the living room. Which child's portrait hangs in the middle?

Answer: Meg

Chris's portrait is on the far left, Meg's is in the middle and little Stewie is on the far right. This is visible in every episode, as well as the opening credits. What's interesting is that sometimes they are very clear while other times the pictures are merely abstract drawings, although they are always identifiable.
10. In "Mind Over Murder" we see a television show on at the Griffin's called "Homicide: Life on Sesame Street." In this brief parody, which two "Sesame Street" characters do we see in roles that nobody's children should ever see?

Answer: Bert and Ernie

They aren't really doing anything inappropriate, but Bert receives a phone call to come down to the police station because someone was murdered down at Hooper's. It's quite shocking to hear Bert swear, especially if you grew up watching those two on Sesame Street.
11. What kind of business does Peter's friend Cleveland own?

Answer: A deli

It's called Cleveland's Deli (bet he was up all night thinking of that one). We have only seen the deli a few times, but Cleveland often speaks of it.
12. There are six members of the Griffin's immediate family: Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and Brian. Now tell me if this is true: Seth MacFarlane provides the voice for three of them.

Answer: True

Seth MacFarlane does the voices of Peter, Stewie and Brian. He has described Peter's voice as that of a "typical loud-mouth New Englander," and Stewie's as "an evil Rex Harrison." Brian's voice is extremely similar to MacFarlane's own voice, just slightly deeper and more sarcastic. Meg was voiced by Lacey Chabert (of "Party of Five" fame) in the first season and later by Mila Kunis of "That 70's Show." Seth Green provides the very comical voice of Chris. Green is perhaps best known for his role as Scott Evil in the "Austin Powers" movies.
13. When the four guys from Spooner Street are sitting on the boat in "A Fish Out of Water," Peter asks them what one woman they would want to spend a night with if they could. What is Cleveland's odd response?

Answer: Margaret Thatcher

The other three guys are appalled by his desire to sleep with Margaret Thatcher, but Cleveland says that "power is sexy." Joe said that he would like to be with Mariel Hemingway and Peter suggested a fictional character from "Total Recall." Quagmire responded with Taylor Hanson and he nearly had a nervous breakdown when his friends told him that Taylor Hanson is a guy.
14. In "Love Thy Trophy," who stole the trophy that was won by the residents of Spooner Street for their "Who's The Boss?" float?

Answer: Brian

Each of the neighbors believes that it was stolen by another neighbor and a full-out feud erupts. None of the human characters ever find out what happened to the trophy, but we do! At the very end of the episode we see Brian digging up the trophy in the Griffin's back yard and then burying it again. We then see Rod Serling, the host of "The Twilight Zone," discussing what Brian is up to.
15. In the episode "Ready, Willing and Disabled," Peter is shocked to see a preview for a made-for-TV movie about Joe entitled "Rolling Courage: The Joe Swanson Story." Who plays the part of Peter in this movie?

Answer: Bea Arthur

Tony Danza plays the part of Joe and Valerie Bertinelli plays the part of Bonnie. Actually, both Danza and Bertinelli agreed to provide the voices for this episode. Not surprisingly, Bea Arthur didn't show up for her role. It was passed on to Alex Rocco, who also does the voice of the soccer mom who Peter punches in "Mind Over Murder." Well, that's my quiz! Let me know if you liked it.
