At the end of "Two To Go", Giles turns up to test Evil Willow's theory that there's no one in the world who has the power to stop her. Buffy says this.

Italy is where Andrew ultimately ended up, as seen in Angel season five. Andrew, Buffy, and Dawn were all in Italy.

In the beginning of season seven, Spike made it clear to Buffy and the audience he went their to get the "spark" to make Buffy love him- his soul.

Giles' magic was the essence of good magic, while Willow's was fueled only by anger and want for revenge. Bad mixture. It made Will start to feel what everyone is feeling, as Giles had hoped it would.

Buffy runs over to save Jonathan and Andrew from the fireball, but she and Dawn fall into the pit. They're left there for the whole of the apocalypse - they were both pretty useless, really!
