Answer: "All My Children"

Dorothy Lyman was the original Opal. It won her two Emmy awards. The character of Opal on "All My Children" was so believable and so much like the character of Naomi that Carol Burnett asked Dorothy if she would be Naomi. She agreed and so Naomi was born.
After she did "Mama's Family" she directed a few episodes of "The Nanny" and even guest starred in a few as well. She has even been in her share of movies.
2. Ken Berry was Vinton on "Mama's Family". On what other popular show did he make a guest appearance as a completely different character?

Answer: "Golden Girls"

He was reunited with his co-stars from "Mama's Family", Rue McClanahan and Betty White. What a small world!

John Stamos loved his role on "General Hospital" but he wanted to do comedy, and that's when the show "Full House" came to be. He became Jesse. The show was cancelled when John Stamos wanted to leave the show.
