Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Mrs. Wolowitz in "The Big Bang Theory" was always heard, but only rarely seen (e.g., zipping past a door, or a large character shown from space at Howard and Bernadette's wedding). Did the series end her participation in the show by having her character die because the actress who played her actually passed away?

Answer: Yes

Carol Ann Susi, the voice of Mrs. Wolowitz, died of cancer on November 11th, 2014. Her character on the show also passed away. The producers placed a photo of Ms. Susi facing the audience on Leonard and Sheldon's fridge after she passed away as a small tribute to the woman with the big voice.
2. Tim the Tool Man's neighbor Wilson never showed his full face on "Home Improvement". What was his first name?

Answer: Wilson

This character spent time at the fence, providing Tim and his family with advice about a variety of things in life. He was also obscured with other objects and facial hair throughout the series. His name was revealed as Wilson W. Wilson, Jr. in the sixth season. That's when the audience discovers that the character was also a cousin to the Wilsons in "The Beach Boys".
3. Which cartoon series had a teacher that was heard but not seen?

Answer: Peanuts

The teacher on Peanuts was heard, but never seen. That said, she didn't say much other than "wah, wah, wah, wah, wah" (and so on).
4. Karen Walker on "Will and Grace" had a husband who was never entirely seen in the show. What was his name?

Answer: Stan

The character Karen Walker makes frequent references to her husband Stan. However, he is only partially seen in one episode where he reaches out and grabs her breast while she is talking to Will. Throughout that scene, his legs can be seen, but the rest of his body is blocked by a plant.
5. The man who owns the investigative agency on "Charlie's Angels" was only a voice coming from a speaker, never showing his face on the show. On which evening soap opera did the actor who voiced Charlie also appear?

Answer: Dynasty

John Forsythe played the role of Charlie in "Charlie's Angels" and also as Blake Carrington on "Dynasty". During his time as Charlie, Forsythe was the highest paid television actor on a per hour basis. He arrived at a sound studio, read his lines in a few minutes, and left while his fellow stars would spend up to 15 hours a day working.
6. Whose wife on "Cheers" never really showed her face, yet the audience learned a lot about her over the years?

Answer: Norm's

Norm talked about his wife all the time while sitting at the bar on "Cheers". She is never really seen, but she is heard now and then. In one episode, she states off-camera that Norm's real name is actually Hilary. Her arm and her legs are seen in a couple of episodes, but perhaps most famously, her head is seen in one episode, but her face is covered with a pie so the audience never learns what she looks like.

The character Vera was actually played by George Wendt's then-wife Bernadette Burkett.
7. The "Magnum PI" character Robin Masters was voiced by the great actor Orson Welles.

Answer: True

This show centred around a private investigator who lived at another man's house in Hawaii to act as the security expert on the property. The owner of the property was Robin Masters, and his voice was originally done by Orson Welles. Welles passed away during the series, so the writers ended up suggesting that the caretaker of Masters' property was Masters but they never completely resolved the issue.

At the end of the series, it was never stated exactly who Robin Masters was - the caretaker or someone else.
8. Who was Mork's heard-but-not-seen boss on "Mork and Mindy"?

Answer: Orson

Mork is an alien sent to Earth to observe human behaviour in "Mork and Mindy". His boss, Orson from his home planet is unable to understand human pleasure emotions such as love, laughter and friendship. He is also against those emotions because the home planet has outlawed pleasure, but he has conversations with Mork to try to learn about them.

The actor who voiced Orson was Ralph James.
9. Which behind-the-scenes "Seinfeld" crew member voiced George Constanza's cantankerous employer and owner of the New York Yankees who never showed his face on the show?

Answer: Co-creator, Larry David

George's boss, the Yankees owner, was always depicted from behind on the show. His face was never shown. It is said that the actual owner of the Yankees at the time, George Steinbrenner loved the character that was voiced by Seinfeld co-creator Larry David.
10. What was the name of the doorman who never showed his face on "Rhoda"?

Answer: Carlton

Carlton often said "This is Carlton, your doorman" on the intercom on this show. Carlton was voiced by Lorenzo Music, who was also a writer for "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", and also provided the voice of Garfield the cat on the animated show of the same name. Carlton was shown a few times, but his face was never visible.

His arms are seen a few times. He is also shown from the back in a cab in one episode, and dancing in a gorilla mask in another episode.
