Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The show "Northern Exposure" was set in which city and state?

Answer: Cicely, Alaska

"Northern Exposure" ran from 1990 through 1995 and starred Rob Morrow as a new doctor who was required to set up a practice in an unconventional and fictional Alaskan town. It was a quirky dramedy.
2. Where would Sully have to land if he wanted to visit the town on "Roseanne"?

Answer: Lanford, Illinois

Roseanne Conner was played by Roseanne Barr Pentland Arnold and was about the daily lives of a middle class family. The show ran from 1988 to 1997, with the oldest daughter played by Lecy Goranson except when she was played by Sarah Chalke. Did they think we wouldn't notice?
3. I wonder if Sully is licensed to fly to the Delta quadrant, because his next stop is which home planet of Neelix from "Star Trek: Voyager"?

Answer: Talax

Neelix was a kind and sometimes annoyingly cheerful Talaxian played by Ethan Phillips from 1995 through 2001 (the next century). He was the cook and self-proclaimed morale officer of the Starship Voyager.
4. I wonder if Sully could locate which famous old town from "Petticoat Junction"?

Answer: Hooterville

Sully would have to go back in time to 1963 to visit Bobbie Jo, Betty Jo and Billie Jo at the Shady Rest Hotel in Hooterville. And, if he waited until 1965, he could also run into Oliver and Lisa Douglas from "Green Acres".
5. Let's have Sully fly us to a somewhat more populated region. Where we would have to land to visit Hank Hill and his "King of the Hill" family?

Answer: Arlen, Texas

If you got this one wrong, then you never watched the show (from 1997).
Hank sells propane gas in Arlen, and is a big fan of Tom Landry, the Dallas Cowboys and all things Texan.
6. Where would Sully have to take us to visit "Spongebob Squarepants"?

Answer: Bikini Bottom

As you might have heard, Spongebob "lives in a pineapple under the sea". He is a creation of Steven Hillenburg who actually studied and taught marine biology in California. That must be why the characters are so real?!
7. Next on our itinerary, where would Sully be flying us if we wanted to visit Sheriff Jimmy Brock from "Picket Fences"?

Answer: Rome, Wisconsin

"Picket Fences" was a David E. Kelly show which ran from 1992 to 1996. This show had some weird plots and some great actors, among which were Tom Skerritt (as the Sheriff), Kathy Baker (his doctor wife), Ray Walston (the judge) and Don Cheadle (the D.A.).
8. Our trip would not be complete without visiting Jessica Fletcher from "Murder, She Wrote". Where would Sully be flying us?

Answer: Cabot Cove, Maine

You didn't think i was going to make it too easy, did you?
Yes, Ms. Fletcher was a "Down Easter" solving crimes from the quaint town of Cabot Cove. The show ran from 1984 to 1996 and, considering the population of Cabot Cove, it's a wonder anyone was left alive!
9. We're buying our tickets to visit the Foremans on "That '70s Show". Where are we flying now?

Answer: Point Place, Wisconsin

"Hello, Wisconsin!" Eric Forman and his friends were high school teenagers growing up in 1976 Wisconsin (a simpler time!). The show ran from 1998 to 2006 and starred, among others, a very young Ashton Kutcher as Kelso.
10. Last, which state is Sully flying us to in order to visit those strange fourth-graders from "South Park"?

Answer: Colorado

"South Park" is the creation of Trey Parker and Matt Stone. It began in 1997 and was about 4 fourth-graders with "potty-mouths" - or 3 after "they killed Kenny"!
