Hurricane Miranda is following the same path as Eve. While all the hybrids sense its arrival, the news forecast is for West Palm Beach. Both Russell and Larkin try to convince others that the storm will hit Homestead directly.

Russ was trying to convince their mayor to alert Homestead citizens that Miranda would hit them. The mayor was not being convinced, and then Frank Vargas came in and completed negated Russ. He told the mayor that their chief had suspended Russ, and none of the park officials believed Miranda would be a direct hit. Tom came in soon after and sided with Russ.

He stated that alerting the town and offering an optional evacuation would be the best thing to do.

Kira's bond with Lewis was just growing stronger in this episode. He was even able to offer her a small peace of mind when he revealed to her that Jesse had nothing to do with his attack. He explained that Jesse had intervened and saved his life, and the boys who did the attack were not Jesse's friends.

Dave told her it was a documentary on the destruction of mankind, but not just that. He was there when Mariel found Rose's backpack on her desk. It contained photos of all three children, and Rose's copy of "Robin Hood". Inside the book's cover was a note that read "do you know where your children are?"
Dave also filmed a little bit of Rose's teacher before he took Rose to Mariel.

Dave and Russ were suspicious that Ms. Wade was a hybrid. She'd been teaching her second grade class about life, death, and extinction. She wouldn't let Dave take Rose without calling Mariel first. Dave was not very nice to her until she revealed that she had stage four lymphoma. Stage four, or end stage, cancers are fatal. She explained that what she'd been teaching the kids was about how to live, and not how to die.
Tina Holmes played Ms. Wade. She also played the step-sister and lover of Nate Fisher in the final season of "Six Feet Under".

Tom questioned his police force as to who let Eli Szura out of the cell. No one would admit any responsibility, so Tom asked Deputy Munger if it was he who did it. Munger said no, and told Tom that Szura had used his own elbow to write a bloody message. He also said he hadn't stopped the message because he'd been intrigued.
"Give me what I want, and I'll go away" was the message of Andre Linoge in "Storm of the Century".

Russell went to the ranger station to borrow some supplies. While there, Mona said that Frank had closed off Blackpoint Sound. This sounded awfully suspicious to Russ, since earlier in the day Frank said it was economically essential to keep the park open.
When Russ found Frank at Blackpoint, he also saw what Frank protected for Eli. It was a body of water full of submerged hybrids.

Kira ran off from the hospital when she realized they were all leaving, but Lewis was staying behind. Tom eventually found her in the back of Munger's patrol car. After retrieving Kira, Tom saw that Munger also had an expensive camera in the car. He knew it had to have been Munger taking the pictures of the children.

As he was questioning Munger, Eli buzzed in on Munger's two way radio. Tom took Munger on a little ride to try and acquire Szura's location, but Munger claimed to know nothing. He also called Tom and his family dinosaurs and that he'd be happy to rot next to his daughter's body. Tom told him he wouldn't last that long, and ran Munger's side of the car into a parked truck.

The entire passenger front of the car was ripped apart, killing Munger.

Kira did not want to leave Lewis in Homestead with the storm coming. She knew that he would not be safe. They kissed, and he told her he'd wait for her forever. Lewis is twenty-six and Kira is seventeen.

Dave insisted he would stay, protect the house and document the events inside the hurricane. Larkin did not want to leave him, but Dave would not change his mind. So, right before they all left Russ threw a shotgun to Dave.
After Tom and Russ got the women and kids out through the Everglades, they took Russ' Bronco back into Homestead.
