Chuck Carrington played the admiral's loyal and dutiful yeoman from 1997 until 2003, appearing in 109 episodes. Tiner left the JAG headquarters staff in the 9th season of the series to attend law school. He was replaced by Petty Officer Coates.

Petty Officer Coats administered life saving first aid and was credited with saving his life.
Coates was later transferred to the JAG staff and replaced Petty Officer Tiner as the admiral's yeoman.
