Dino was coming home one day when he caught his mom having an affair. His mom, Annie (Lisa Darr), and his coach, Dave Scott (Martin Cummins), were in Dino's house when Dino saw them. In one episode, Dino's father, Michael (D.B. Sweeney), punches Dave Scott because he had helped destroy his family.

Annie and Michael Whitman (Dino's parents) had been spending a lot of time together and talked about reconstructing their marriage. Although Jackie told Dino she didn't want a relationship, when Dino congratulated her on her Presidential win things looked different. Sue and Ben secretly kept seeing each other, even though Sue's father didn't approve of him.
