In this classic episode, Laura asked Nellie why the boys considered her just one of the boys and why she couldn't get the attention of the boy she liked. In response to this, Laura tried wearing her Sunday dress first, then wearing perfume and, when these didn't work, putting apples in her dress. But, the apples fell out right in the middle of school! Boy, was Laura embarrassed! Needless to say, after all of that, she found out that the boy she was trying to impress liked her just the way she was!

As it turned out, Laura and Bunny won, and they received a Blue Ribbon and Mrs. Oleson's gold punch bowl. In exchange for her generosity, she got shoes for the whole family.
