Mona's Funeral Trivia Quiz

A couple of characters from Mona's past, Nick Davis and Mark Dalton, returned to town for her funeral and in one of the first scenes of the episode was a conversation between Erica and Nick. Nick asked Erica if she needed any help but she informed him she was alright. He then told her to at least let him tell the driver of the hearse where to park. Erica told him to do it.

In an early scene from the episode, Dimitri was at Wildwind and he had the newspaper out and turned to the obituary section. It was there that he saw the write up on Mona, complete with a picture of her. Dimitri then flashed back to when he seated Mona at his first wedding to Erica.

Midway through the episode, many residents of Pine Valley got up to share their memories of Mona and one of them happened to be her arch-rival, Phoebe. As she got up, Myrtle asked her why she wanted to speak about Mona but Phoebe simply said she had a couple of words to say. Phoebe stated during her speech how she learned to respect Mona over time for being a good woman and that her only regret was it took Mona's death for her to admit that respect.

Charlie Brent, son of Phil Brent and grandson of Nick Davis, got up to say some words on Mona and he recalled some very early memories of her. The first memory he spoke of was remembering how she and Nick played games in the living room. Then, he spoke of how she wrote out his college application and was even a client at his private investigation firm that he opened up with Hayley Vaughn.

Bianca, Mona's granddaughter, got up to say some words about Mona and commented on what a wonderful grandmother she was. She recalled how she even made trips to the grocery store fun and then remarked how Mona taught her how to braid her hair. Bianca cried when she remembered how she was the only person Mona gave her a secret recipe to for gingersnap cookies.

Myrtle got up to share her fondest memories of Mona and how many they had since they were the best of friends. She spoke of how she and Mona planned to retire together at two condos out by Willow Lake. Myrtle then stated how everyone there likely knew how the retirement home where they wanted to go to happened to be a scam due to its abuse of the elderly via over medication.

Jack got up since Erica was too heartbroken to speak about Mona so he read her speech. In the speech, Erica mentioned how Mona as a person could not be said in a short length of time since she was such a great woman. Erica also made a note to say that she did not always appreciate her mother but would miss her with all her heart.

Right after Jack read Erica's speech, Livia got up to sing a song to celebrate Mona's life. It was during this song that several of the men got up and took Mona's coffin out to the hearse to be driven to the cemetery. In real life, the actress who played Livia, Tonya Pinkins, is an accomplished singer.

As we got to the scene which involved Mona's casket going underground, Dimitri was seen by the gate and a little bit of a distance from Mona's coffin. As they prepared to lower the coffin, Erica burst into tears an threw herself on Mona's coffin, vowing she would not allow them to put Mona in the ground. Bianca started to move away while her mother broke down and she eventually bumped into Dimitri.

Bianca went to Erica's room after Mona's coffin was lowered into the ground and asked her if she would also leave her. Erica hugged Bianca and said she was not going anywhere. During their conversation, Bianca mentioned how Dimitri told her everything would get better. Erica asked her where she saw Dimitri so Bianca answered he was also at the cemetery. Sure enough, Dimitri was right since he and Erica reunited shortly after the funeral and remarried on New Year's.
