Based on watching these videos, Abby determines that the knife McGee finds in the junkyard that was used to kill Leanne Roberts was not the same knife as the one used to slit the throat of Jamie Carr. As it turns out, the knife that was used on Jamie Carr was a fake knife from a magic store.

Scuttlebutt is marine slang for gossip. Often times the team uses gossip to help find leads to cases. Gibbs, however, is quick to tell his team not to trust scuttle butt. This term is mentioned numerous times throughout the series. It seems that sailors and marines like to gossip!

Tony contracted pneumonic plague. This form of plague is typically contracted when the bacteria is inhaled, as Tony did. This form is easily spread by coughing. Bubonic and septicemic plague are typically caused by insect or animal bites and are not normally transmitted from person to person.

As the name sounds, pneumonic plague attacks the lungs while bubonic and septicemic plague attack the lymphatic system and the blood respectively. I just made up renal plague. All three forms of the plague are caused by the Yersinia pestis bacteria and all three can typically be treated with antibiotics such as streptomycin or gentamycin.
