Luffy runs into his old enemy: Buggy the Clown. Buggy said he managed to break free due to the guards not knowing about his Devil Fruit power which is the Bara Bara no Mi that allows him to chop himself into pieces. Luffy informs Buggy that escaping outside is impossible as there are navy ships out there and Buggy reluctantly agrees to join Luffy in his quest to rescue Ace.

2. Luffy and Buggy drop down into Level 2 and, meanwhile, the Warden of Impel Down is seen for the first time. Who is the Warden of Impel Down?

Answer: Magellan

Magellan is the Warden of Impel Down and also the primary antagonist of the Impel Down Arc. Magellan is a devilish-looking man that has eaten the Doku Doku no Mi (Vemon-Vemon Fruit). His Devil Fruit is extremely powerful and dangerous as it allows him to generate different types of poison which has earned his reputation in Impel Down. Hannyabal is the Vice Warden of Impel Down who is always trying to become the head Warden. Shiliew was the former Head Jailer of Impel Down until he kept killing the prisoners for fun. Saldeath is a higher-classed guard.

3. Boa Hancock decides to visit Ace down on Level 6 mainly to tell him in secret that Luffy is coming to rescue him. Ace is also being kept on the floor with two other characters. One is Crocodile and the other is whom?

Answer: Jinbe

"The Knight of the Sea" Jinbe is also being held on Level 6 of Impel Down. The main reason he's being held up because he refuses to fight against Whitebeard in the upcoming war due to Whitebeard protecting Fishman Island. Jinbe is also a good friend of Ace despite the two of them fighting in the past. Crocodile merely scoffs at Jinbe and Ace saying he wants to kill Whitebeard himself. Ace is eventually told by Hancock that Luffy is trying to rescue him (while Magellan is busy poisoning the nearby prisoners).

4. Luffy continues on down into the underwater prison. He encounters Mr. 3 again who agrees to help out (though he and Buggy form an alliance to ditch Luffy and free themselves). After fighting through the wild beasts and the Sphinx, they end up on Level 3. They cross over the desert-like area but Mr. 3 and Buggy eventually ditch Luffy. However, Luffy is soon joined by an old friend in battle. Who is this person?

Answer: Mr. 2 Bon Kurei

Mr. 2 Bon Kurei (whose real name is actually Bentham) joins Luffy in battle. Luffy though it was Zoro at first but it turns out to be Mr. 2 in disguise (thanks to his Mane Mane no Mi Devil Fruit powers). Luffy and Mr. 2 fight through Saldeath's forces and are eventually joined by Buggy and Mr. 3 again and the four head down to Level 4. Unfortunately for them, Magellan has set up a trap.

5. On Level 4, Luffy fights against Magellan. After a long battle, who emerged victorious?

Answer: Magellan

Despite Luffy's great fighting style, he was effortlessly defeated by Magellan whose Doku Doku no Mi powers gave him a great advantage in the battle. Luffy fought hard but Luffy began to lose his senses and Magellan ended the battle by completely drenching Luffy in his Hydra. Magellan says that Luffy has 24 hours to live and orders the guards to throw Luffy into Level 5 where he will die soon. Mr. 2, not wanting to see his friend die, comes to the rescue.

6. Mr. 2 eventually frees Luffy but is taken down by the White Wolf Unit of Level 5. Luffy clears them out with Haki but they both fall unconscious. Eventually, Mr. 2 wakes up to find himself saved by his idol Emporio Ivankov who is known as the "miracle person". What is the name of his Devil Fruit?

Answer: Horu Horu no Mi

The Horu Horu no Mi is called the "Horm-Horm Fruit" which allows Ivankov to inject himself or others with specific types of hormones. It is because of this and Luffy's will that brought Luffy out of his near-death state. After hearing Luffy is the son of Monkey D. Dragon, Ivankov decides join Luffy in his quest to save Ace. Luffy and the others make it to Level 6 but, unfortunately, Ace has already been taken away.

7. Luffy is shocked to hear that Ace has been already taken away but decides to break out of Impel Down in order to catch up to him. At this point, Luffy acquires two more allies from Level 6 who are Crocodile and Jinbe and they all attempt to escape together. However, Luffy ends up running into someone who is responsible for Ace's capture in the first place. Who does Luffy run into?

Answer: Marshall D. Teach

Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) is the man responsible for the capture of Ace. Luffy and Blackbeard get into a brief battle before Jinbe breaks it up saying they must get away from Magellan and catch up to Ace. Luffy and the others head on while Blackbeard and his crew are poisoned by Magellan.

8. Magellan manages to catch up to Luffy and the others onto Level 2 and engages them in battle. Fortunately, someone's Devil Fruit powers comes in handy against the poison man. Whose Devil Fruit is useful against Magellan?

Answer: Mr. 3's

Mr. 3's Devil Fruit is the Doru Doru no Mi which translates to the Wax-Wax Fruit. Mr. 3's wax acts like a barrier against Magellan's poison and Luffy uses it to fight against the Warden without getting poisoned. However, Magellan soon activates a deadly type of poison that even eats through the wax itself making fighting Magellan impossible. Luffy, Mr. 3, and the prisoners then try to make their escape from Magellan and Impel Down.

9. Luffy and the others make their getaway from Magellan who is closing in on them. Jinbe, Crocodile, Daz Bones, and Buggy all managed to get a Navy ship but it's too far away from Luffy's group. Jinbe informs them it's okay to jump into the water onto Ivankov's enlarged head saying they will be saved. What saved Luffy's group when they jumped into the raging ocean?

Answer: Whale Sharks

Jinbe has called over Whale Sharks to rescue Luffy's group. Magellan stood over in shocked as Luffy's group successfully escaped from Impel Down. However, Luffy's group isn't out of hot water yet as they must first pass through the Gates of Justice which are quickly closing in on them.

10. All hope seems lost as Magellan calls for the Gates of Justice to be closed. However, someone as actually stayed behind to ensure Luffy's group makes it out. Who has stayed behind to keep the Gates of Justice from closing on Luffy's group?

Answer: Mr. 2 Bon Kurei

Mr. 2 has stayed behind to ensure Luffy rescues his brother. Mr. 2 uses his powers to disguise himself as Magellan to trick the guards into opening the Gates of Justice onto Luffy's group and then closes them when the other Navy ships tried to follow them. Luffy and most of the others tearfully call out to Mr. 2 as he is confronted by Magellan. Luffy has successfully escaped from Impel Down but immediately sets a course for Marineford where Ace's execution is being held at.
