After an argument with her then-boyfriend, "soon-to-be husband", Frank Sinatra, Mia cut off her long blonde signature hair in her dressing room, throwing cast and crew into a frenzy! Her short, pixie style caught on and was a sensation. Farrow was also unhappy with the show, her role as sweet Allison Mackenzie and her long hair which matched her little girl image which was associated with her character.

Answer: Barbara Parkins

The dark haired, Canada-born beauty, Barbara Parkins portrayed Betty Anderson. She became a fan favorite from the very first episode. She was so popular that Producer Paul Monash planned a show of her own "The Girl from Peyton Place." Fortunately, the idea was shelved and Parkins stayed on the show for the entire five years.

While still filming "Peyton Place," Parkins starred in another 1960s cult classic "Valley of the Dolls."

Oliver originally signed a year-long contract but became restless playing the same character and asked to be released from her contract.
