Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was Christian Walker's former alias?

Answer: Diamond

Christian Walker is a detective in the Powers Bureau of the police department.

He is uniquely positioned to work in the department as he is a former powered person himself.
2. What city is the series set in?

Answer: Los Angeles

"Powers" was based on a Brian Michael Bendis created comic book called "Powers Bureau".

The book was published by an imprint of Marvel Comics.

Both the book and the series follow the exploits of the Powers Bureau of the Los Angeles Police Department.
3. Which "power" was found dead in a hotel room?

Answer: Olympia

Olympia and Diamond were once good friends when they were both "powers".

After Diamond reverted to simply being Christian Walker the two didn't talk nearly as often.

It was Walker who was called in to investigate Olympia's strange death.
4. There is a show within the show that is all about people with powers. What was that show called?

Answer: Powers That Be

"Powers That Be" was a show that chronicled the lives of known "powers". Several of the younger kids with abilities mention to Christian about having seen his episode.
5. What was the name of the drug that was being sold by gangs in the pilot?

Answer: Sway

Sway is a drug that enhances the ability of powered people for a short time. It also allows non-powered people to get an extra jolt if they are interacting sexually with a powered person while they are on it.

Olympia was dosed with some Sway, which caused his heart to explode.
6. Within the universe of the show, there was an animated series based on Diamond and his friends.

Answer: True

The show was on in the 1990s, but no details of exactly what it was about where revealed in the pilot.

The show featured Diamond, and at least three other powered people.
7. What was the name of the villain Diamond was fighting when he lost his abilities?

Answer: Wolfe

Wolfe was a former mentor to Diamond, who turned villain after he started to lose his mind and go insane.

Wolfe revealed later in the pilot that Diamond hadn't just lost his powers during the fight, but that Wolfe had taken them, and despite it being years later, could return them if he wanted to.
8. The prison where powered people were locked up was located on a flying base.

Answer: False

The prison was actually more than a half mile underground.

Dozens of criminals are locked in the most secure prison on Earth, though the only one named in the pilot was Wolfe.
9. What were people who didn't have powers but hung around the powered people called?

Answer: Wannabes

On several instances characters were referred to as "wannabes". This including the girl who was found in the bathroom of Olympia's hotel room.

Sometimes a "wannabe" thinks they will one day become a power. They hope that by hanging out with the powers their own abilities will be kickstarted.
10. Did Diamond's powers reactivate when he leapt off a building near the end of the episode?

Answer: No

Diamond had just interacted with Wolfe, where he found out that his own powers weren't necessarily gone forever.

He jumped after another person in an attempt to save her, but his powers didn't come back.

Retro Girl ended up saving both of them, and dropped Christian back on the top of the building before flying off.
