Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the computer generated hologramatic ship?

Answer: Enlightenment

Rimmer was able to eat, drink and touch on board the Enlightenment, and was desperate to join the crew. The problem was that he had to prove himself worthy by undertaking a battle of intellect with an existing crew member!
2. Who or what is Nirvanah?

Answer: an officer on the holoship

She fell for Rimmer and taught him the value of love. This character was played by Jane Horricks, a much loved and versatile actress.
3. Kryten performs a mind-patch on Rimmer using two superior brains. Whose were they?

Answer: Buchan and McQueen

As Kryten said, after the mind patch Rimmer was operating on a completely different level to them now. To him they were the intellectual equivalent of domestic science teachers.
4. Lister was reading a comic book while the crew were on board Starbug. On which book was it based?

Answer: Virgil's Aeneid

This lead to a discussion on 'the epic tale of Agamemnon's pursuit of Helen of Troy - the most classic work by the greatest Latin poet who ever put quill to parchment!' 'Yeah - it's the comic book version.'
5. Complete this statement: 'Your judge shall be ______ '

Answer: yourself

Rimmer and the Cat were both aquitted. Lister and Kryten were not quite so fortunate and were sentenced to being erased from existence.
6. Part of Kryten's body involuntarily jiggles when he is lying. Which part?

Answer: his right foot

Trying to convince himself that he was not afraid of death, Kryten's entire body was shaking uncontrollably in less than a minute!
7. How does Lister spell the name of a certain spider on the computer screen?

Answer: taranshula

Lister thought Kryten's hand (which was sent back to Red Dwarf to fetch help) was a tarantula with 'an eye the size of a meatball setting up home in his joy department'). Ever helpful, Cat suggested that he buys a potion from Gandalf the master wizard.
8. What do the frogs say?

Answer: 'useless'

We hear the frogs as the reluctant search party is traveling through the Swamp of Dispair. Lister actually says, 'Is it me, or are those frogs saying "useless"?'
9. What is the Unspeakable One made of?

Answer: Rimmer's self loathing

The Unspeakable One was defeated when the crew refused to leave him to his fate, thus inflating Rimmer's self worth. Starbug finally escaped the moon as the crew convinced Rimmer that he was a valued member of the team, even though they did not mean what they said.
10. What was the name of the hologramatic doctor?

Answer: Dr Hildegarde Lanstrom

Landstrom had developed amazing powers of telepathy, telekinesis, and hex vision due to having caught a mutated holo-virus. She passed this virus onto Rimmer.
11. What is the name of Rimmer's right-hand penguin?

Answer: Mister Flibble

Having caught the holo-virus from Dr Lanstrom, Rimmer also had hex vision which he operated through Mr Flibble, a penguin hand puppet.
12. What were the odds of Red Dwarf blowing up?

Answer: 1 in 1

Lister probably wanted to suggest one in a million or another large number, but the ship blew up as he said the word 'in', so finished his sentence lamely with the word 'one'.
13. Which of the following was one of the films in the 'lows' movie collection?

Answer: 'Revenge of the Mutant Splat Gore Monster'

Also included was 'Die Screaming with Sharp Things in your Head', and the CD's 'Hammond Heaven', 'Karaoke Krazy' and 'Peter Perfect Plays Tuneful Tunes for Elderly Ladies'. As Kryten said, 'Everything that's designed to sicken the soul and shrivel the spirit.'
14. What score did the crew get on the AR game, 'Red Dwarf'?

Answer: 4%

Andy, the AR attendant, said that they must have been playing like puddings! And he was probably right.
15. Who did the Cat turn into?

Answer: Duane Dibbley

Duane Dibbley reappeared in subsequent episodes, much to the delight of the fans. Kryten became Jake Bullet, Lister was Sebastian Doyle, and Rimmer was his less successful half-brother, Billy.
