Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Let's start off simple...what actor played Mr. Belding?

Answer: Dennis Haskins

The other main characters on the show included: Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack Morris, Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie Spano, Dustin Diamond as Samuel 'Screech' Powers, Mario Lopez as A.C. Slater, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen as Kelly Kapowski, Lark Voorhies as Lisa Turtle, Leanna Creel as Tori Scott (season 4 only), and finally, Ed Alonzo as Max, who was the owner of...you guessed it...The Max!
2. When Zack, Lisa, and Screech open up an advice hotline, what does Zack use as his code name?

Answer: Nitro

During this season two episode, Lisa gives great advice, but Zack becomes so envious that he fires her. From there, Zack and Screech come up with an evil plan to increase sales: give rotten advice and have them going back for more. Golly, did Zack ever learn?
3. During the season one episode "The Substitute", the girls in Zack's class fall in love with a teacher named...?

Answer: Tony Crane

The character of Tony Crane was played by Hank Stratton. The other multiple choice answers were Rod Belding, the brother of the school principal who played a substitute in one episode; Mr. Testaverde, who was a horrifying teacher that everyone hated; and Mr. Tuttle, who was the driver's education and glee club teacher.
4. What Christmas play does the gang perform at the mall during the holiday episodes "Home For Christmas"?

Answer: A Christmas Carol

During these Christmas episodes, Zack befriends Laura, a girl who is working with Kelly in the mall. Zack and Screech make friends with a homeless man at the mall, but when they visit him in the hospital, they are shocked to learn that Laura is his daughter, which made her homeless as well.
5. What famous voice icon appeared in episodes such as "Dancing to the Maxx" and "Rockumentary", primarily as a host of something?

Answer: Casey Kasem

Casey appeared in the episode "Dancing to the Maxx", which was the first 'Saved By The Bell' episode ever to air. He also hosted the highlights of the gang's climb to stardom with their band, The Zack Attack, in the episode "Rockumentary", which turned out to be a dream by Zack.
6. When Zack and his pals got the KKTY/KTTY school-wide radio back up, which of the gang was lousy and monotone when reading their lines?

Answer: Slater

Slater was the anchorman for the sports sector of the station. He was very wooden in reading out his lines, and his sound effects were not timed correctly. Needless to say, the gang didn't appreciate his sportscast!
For the record, it was written as both "KKTY" and "KTTY" during the life of the show, in different episodes. Since the spelling of this does not affect the multiple choice answer, I have chosen to leave it as it is. Please refrain from sending correction notices about this.
7. Finish these lyrics from the 'Saved By The Bell' theme song: "By the time I grab my books, and I give myself a look, I'm at the corner just in time to see the ____________".

Answer: bus fly by

The original theme for the show was performed by Scott Gale, and did not change throughout the course of the show. It was later added into the intro of the show's prequel, 'Good Morning, Miss Bliss', and started with Zack talking about his days in junior high.
8. During the episode "Earthquake", who assists Mr. Belding's wife in giving birth in an elevator?

Answer: Tori

Mr. Belding's wife, Becky, was played by Louan Gideon in this season four episode. She gave birth in an elevator because an earthquake shut her, Tori, and Zack in.
9. Who is so angry that the gang forgot his birthday that he sends everyone to detention?

Answer: Screech

In this season four episode "Screech's Birthday", Screech is angry at all his friends. To make it up to him, they get him promoted to hall monitor, but he is still mad so he gets back at them by putting them all in detention (along with the rest of the school)!
10. How many seasons did "Saved By The Bell" last during its original run on NBC?

Answer: Four

Logically speaking, this isn't hard to guess. High school is a four year journey, as was this show. From here, they moved onto the prematurely-pulled "Saved By The Bell: The College Years".

Due to an overwhelming amount of false correction notices sent to me over the years, I have decided to include more information that should clear the validity of this question up.

Firstly, just because NBC released a 5th season box set DVD does not mean there are 5 seasons. This was done to gather more money -- if one is to look at the Season 3&4 box set, it only includes most episodes from season 3 and only a few episodes from season 4 -- three or four episodes, if that. That's one reason why you won't see the words "COMPLETE" on the cover, since seasons 3 and 4 are both far from complete on that set. The remainder of the episodes from those seasons were released in what NBC dubbed the 'season 5' box set.

This list says it all:
http://www.tv.com/saved-by-the-bell/show/457/episode_listings.html

As you can see, there was no season five like many people believe there was. Tori was there for all of season four except the final two episodes, the clip show episode "Time Capsule" and the amazing finale, entitled "Graduation". There were NOT four seasons and then a fifth "Tori Season".

Another problems arises when people think the Malibu Sands episodes were an entirely different season, when in fact, as you can see from that link, they were aired as part of Season 3. NBC aired two episodes a week, one after the other... one being a normal episode and the other being a Malibu Sands episode.

Four years of high school, four years on the air, four seasons -- 1989 to 1992.

Please refrain from sending correction notices about this! Thank you!
11. During the entire run of the series, is Jessie ever a cheerleader?

Answer: Yes

During the season four episode "Wrestling with the Future", she becomes a cheerleader, but then worries about her potential of being more than she already is. She was also a cheerleader in the episode "Save That Tiger".
12. What is the name of the crooked salesman who sells the school fake class rings?

Answer: Gem Diamond

Gem Diamond is a good representation of a modern day melodramatic 'phony'. His voice tone was sly, and his attire was quite unusual. When introduced to Slater, Gem asks "What's the A.C. stand for?" to which Slater replies "Abnormally Cruel.", while giving him an obviously painful handshake.
13. When Zack wants to get into the over-18 dance club "The Attic", he has Screech create fake IDs. How old is the character of Zack Morris actually during this episode?

Answer: 16

Slater: "The Attic is an over-18 dance club, and Zack's only 16!" Zack: "That may be true today, Slater, but by tomorrow night, we'll all be 18." Screech: "Oh no, Mom said I had to move out at 18! I gotta go look for a place!"
14. Jessie's abnormally cruel stepbrother was shown in two season 3 episodes. What was his first name?

Answer: Eric

Eric was played by Joshua Hoffman, who also guest starred on the popular 1990s sitcom "Blossom".
15. Which of these regulars was not a member of The Zack Attack in the episode "Rockumentary"?

Answer: Jessie

The band's line-up included Zack playing guitar, Kelly doing lead vocals, Lisa on bass guitar, Screech on keyboard and Slater on drums. All five of them did vocals as well.
16. During the episode "Pipe Dreams", an oil spill kills many animals in a nearby pond. What was the name of the duck that Zack was looking after?

Answer: Becky

The oil was found underneath the football field, but the gang realized that they would rather have a clean bayside than a rich one. One of many lessons that Zack and his friends learn throughout the show's run.
17. Michael La Velle provided the voice of Screech's spunky robot. What was his name?

Answer: Kevin

Screech's robot gave him a black eye in the episode "Beauty and the Screech", which ultimately helped Screech win a beauty pageant.
18. During the 'Malibu Sands' episodes, Zack bets his boss, Leon Carosi, that their team can win a very important volleyball game. Carosi promises Zack either a 25% pay raise or pay cut, depending on if they win.

Answer: False

Carosi actually promises that he is allowed to purchase his car if the team wins, because Zack wanted the car, but Carosi wouldn't sell it on account that Zack is, well...Zack.
19. During the episode where Zack falls for the new school nurse, which of the gang members is afraid of getting a flu shot?

Answer: Slater

The role of the youthful school nurse, Jennifer, was played by Nancy Valen. As for Slater, well, he only got out of taking his flu shot because he blackmailed Zack.
20. The rival school that Bayside always challenged was known only as...

Answer: valley

Seriously, it was as if there were NO other schools in existence! Bayside always went up against Valley, no matter what the competition was, whether it was chess, wrestling, or even pranks! LOL! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my quiz!
