Elliot misinterprets the man's statement that his wife is "no longer with him" to mean she has died, but she is simply out of town. She finds out and gets revenge on Elliot by duct-taping her to the front of the hospital.

JD takes Elliot's advice to not ruin the new relationship a bit too far, and they buy a block together. Julie, played by Mandy Moore, is a pretty but very clumsy girl who JD is set up with on a blind date.

Julie doesn't laugh at JD's jokes: to his annoyance she just says "that's so funny" instead. He breaks up with her at the end of the episode; claiming that this isn't the reason but it clearly is a factor. Mrs Wilks' dying wish is to go to the beach, so the staff build a makeshift beach on the roof (complete with a giant castle created by Janitor). While she is Ok with dying, JD goes through 5 stages of grief for her: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

Turk is fine, and so is Carla. The doctor puts their trouble down to stress, which ironically is increased as they pressure themselves more and more to have a baby.

He and JD hatch a plan to tell her as a surprise, but soon find out she wanted to tell all her friends personally. In the end she is just relieved that she's finally having a baby.
