Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The season premiere features a battle between Clark and his mirror-image "Bizarro" counterpart. Which of these is NOT one of the opposites shown in this episode?

Answer: Bizarro has freeze vision, rather than Clark's heat vision

While in the comics Bizarro has freeze vision, he does not in "Smallville". He has heat vision just like Clark, as shown in the scene where Bizarro is impaled by a steel beam high up on a power line.
2. The second episode of the season introduces Clark's cousin from Krypton. What is her name?

Answer: Kara

All four multiple choice options in this question do in fact pertain to females in the "Superman" mythos. Kara is Clark's cousin, aka Supergirl. Raya helps Clark escape the Phantom Zone. Lara is the name of Clark's birth mother, and Luma Lynai is the alter ego of Superwoman.

Kara Zor-El is portrayed by Toronto native Laura Vandervoort.
3. Who is NOT part of the Veritas secret society?

Answer: Lex Luthor

Lex is too young to be a member. Known members include Robert and Laura Queen (Oliver's parents), Dr. Virgil Swann, Bridgette Crosby, Genevieve and Edward Teague (Jason's parents), and Lionel Luthor.
4. In "Wrath", which character gains Clark's abilities?

Answer: Lana

As has been shown before on "Smallville", the acquisition or transfer of Clark's abilities require a lightning strike (or other powerful source of electricity) and kryptonite.
5. Much of the first half of this season involves Grant Gabriel as an editor at the Daily Planet, and boss of Chloe and Lois. Who or what is he revealed to be?

Answer: He is a clone of Lex's infant brother Julian

The episode "Gemini" features a man named Adrian, who is an earlier cloning attempt by Lex but ultimately a failure because he ages too quickly and his body cannot stay healthy. Grant is the first successful clone, but Lex has him shot when he starts bonding with Lionel.
6. Which former character re-appears and gains a kryptonite-enhanced ability in the episode "Hero"?

Answer: Pete Ross

Pete Ross is played by Sam Jones III. His character departs the show at the end of the third season. This episode is his only guest appearance.
7. "Descent" involves the death of which long-time character?

Answer: Lionel Luthor

Unlike many previous episodes, this death is permanent. There is no time reversal, serum that fakes death or use of meteor powers to bring Lionel back.
8. In the episode "Apocalypse", Clark proclaims that Earth would have been better off had he never arrived, so Jor-El shows him an alternate reality in which that is the case. Which of the following is true about the alternate reality?

Answer: Lex Luthor is President of the United States

In the alternate reality, both of the Kents are alive and they have a son, although it is not revealed if he was adopted or born naturally. Lois is an award winning journalist for the Daily Planet. Kara is the head of the Department of Domestic Security, using the alias Linda Danvers (which is the alter ego of Supergirl). Lex is the President of the United States. Chloe is engaged and Lana is married with two children, living in France.
9. "Quest" involves Lex's journey to figure out the Veritas secret, using a cryptograph and several intricate clues. The first item is found in a clock in Montreal, Quebec. Where is the second item found?

Answer: Luthor Mansion

The first item is a small metallic object in the shape of the Superman shield. The second is an orb with an indentation to fit that object.

Based on a song that the clock played in Montreal, Lex discovers that the second item is in a Scottish castle. The castle in question is Luthor Mansion, which Lionel had shipped from Scotland brick by brick. He finds the orb inside the mantle above the fireplace in his office.
10. Why is Clark's cousin behaving differently in the season finale "Arctic", including crashing an airplane and revealing her powers to Lex?

Answer: It is actually Brainiac in disguise

It is revealed that Brainiac has locked Kara in the Phantom Zone.

This season is the last for Kristin Kreuk (Lana) and Michael Rosenbaum (Lex) as series regulars.
