Tad started off the episode sitting in his chair at home conversing with Jake over the phone. He asked his brother if there could be a reason why his parents never contacted him on that day, as their tradition was to have a phone conversation once a year on that particular day ever since Joe and Ruth moved to Florida. Tad could be heard repeating Jake's reply, which was he didn't understand the reason for Joe and Ruth's lack of correspondence.

In a short while, Tad understood why: Joe and Ruth were back in town for a visit.

In the first scene at the hospital, a psychiatric patient portrayed by Sarah Michelle Gellar asked an orderly to have Maria Santos evaluate her. Maria was puzzled about this so the patient said she demanded her assistance due to believing that she knew Maria.

However, Maria responded that they did not know each other from before. The patient claimed to be Erica's daughter while also possessing the talent to slay vampires. Maria told the orderly to place her into a private room so she could contact a psychiatrist.

These mentions were references to Gellar's stint on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and her previous time on "AMC" when her character, Kendall, constantly interacted with Maria.

Jake was conducting duties at the hospital when Amanda stopped by to deliver good news. As the two of them looked into finding a new home, she stated that the loft next door to them was for sale. Jake joyfully responded by telling her they would look into purchasing it for them and their son, Trevor.

Maria was pleased to see Jake and Joe Martin at Pine Valley Hospital since she has been a long time friend of the Martin family. Both of them asked her what brought her back to town so she told them about a patient she was consulting some local doctors about to help with treatment.

They spoke for a little bit longer until she received a phone call from a colleague in Miami and had to depart. This was a tongue in cheek reference to Eva LaRue (Maria) starring on the hit TV series, "CSI: Miami".

According to Jesse, he only did this since Griffin claimed the matter he wished to speak to David of was life or death. When Jesse left the two of them alone, they talked about the mystery patient at the Project Orpheus lab.

In a drunken craze, JR saw what he thought to be Babe alive and in the flesh. During this hallucination, Babe encouraged JR to let his anger go so as to be a better parent to their son, AJ. Babe only appeared for a few quick scenes before JR realized she was not there in the flesh.

Early in this "AMC" showing, Adam and Brooke showed up at the estate but were saddened to see everything packed up. In a previous episode, it was stated that Chandler Mansion had been foreclosed upon due to financial stresses plaguing Chandler Enterprises. Brooke consoled Adam as he moped around at his beloved home, fearful of what his son had turned into over the past couple months.

Tad and Dixie texted one another to meet at the park (they found out that both of them went there for the same reason) so they sat down on a bench to talk. As Tad sat down, he accidentally dialed up Opal's cell phone and also set his cell on speaker. Their family back home listened in on their conversation when Dixie finally popped the question to Tad.

She accepted, causing their family and friends back home to jump for joy.

Near the end of the episode, Tad and Dixie returned home where they were surprised to hear from everyone that they knew all about their engagement. This was when they informed him about his accidental dialing but otherwise all were excited over this new prospect in their lives. Jamie privately joked with his father about always locking his cell phone in the future whenever the need arose to "get down on one knee".

The Martin family and friends gathered together to take a sentimental snap shot as former clips from over the years flashed across the screen. Some of those clips seen were of Tad and Dixie's first wedding, when Jake and Amanda renewed their vows and of when Kate blew her signature kiss. The very first clip showed someone holding up a frame picture of Joe and Ruth's 1972 wedding.
