Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who encourages Seth to start his own comic?

Answer: Zach

Seth is depressed over his woman problems with Alex. He's sitting at school, drawing in his sketchbook when Zach comes over. Zach glimpses his drawings and suggests that Seth start his own comic.
2. At one point in this episode, Alex and Marissa are discussing emancipation. What two teen stars does Alex give as an example of emancipated minors?

Answer: Hilary Duff and Lil Bow Wow

Alex and Marissa are in Alex's Jeep. Alex is telling Marissa how she came to live in Newport and explains how she petitioned the court to be emancipated from her parents. Marissa thinks this is cool and Alex mentions Hilary Duff and Lil' Bow Wow.
3. What is Ryan's character's name in Seth's comic book?

Answer: Bryan Gatwood AKA Kid Chino

Seth references this character in passing, "Hey, Bryan Gatwood, AKA Kid Chino! A strong but silent youth from the wrong side of the tracks who, when provoked, unleashes his fists of fury." This comes in Seth's form of a pep talk to Ryan before Ryan heads off to dinner with Lindsay and Caleb.
4. At the beginning of the episode, when Seth meets Jody at Alex's house, he wonders if the two girls might be interested in a threesome (or "menage-a-threeway" as Seth puts it). He then references a movie titled "Summer Lovers" that happens to star one of "The O.C.'s" other characters. Which actor from "TheO.C." is a character in "Summer Lovers"?

Answer: Peter Gallagher

"Summer Lovers" was a movie from 1982 that starred Daryl Hannah, Valerie Quennessen and Peter Gallagher. The premise involved a couple that meets a dazzling woman and starts a three-way relationship.
5. Which cast member, listed in the opening credits, does not appear in this episode, although we do hear that person's voice on the telephone?

Answer: Melinda Clarke as Julie

Julie is overseas, preparing for The Newport Group's upcoming magazine. Marissa is left in the house with only Caleb and she expresses multiple times that she does not respect him and will not follow his instructions as if he is her father. Marissa mentions in one scene that her mother is "spa-hopping."
6. What does Summer take out of Seth's room in this episode?

Answer: sketchpad

Summer stops by the Cohen house, looking for Zach. She finds him and Seth in Seth's room, talking about the comic book. They go downstairs and she realizes that she has left her pocketbook in Seth's room so she returns to get it. When she grabs it, she knocks Captain Oats (Seth's toy horse) on the floor and it ends up under Seth's bed.

When she goes to retrieve it, she notices a sketchbook and since it's an odd place to keep a sketchbook, she gets curious and flips through it. The majority of the book is filled with sketches of her, in and out of the future Little Miss Vixen role.

She doesn't have time to look at it without drawing suspicion from Seth and Zach so she slips it in her bag and leaves.
7. Who suggests to Lindsay that she call Caleb?

Answer: Ryan

Lindsay is feeling even more rejected now that Caleb has admitted to being her father, yet he still hasn't made any fatherly moves toward her. Even though Ryan and Caleb don't get along, Ryan still suggests that Lindsay call Caleb if it's bothering her that much. Ryan uses the example from Star Wars, saying that even Luke was happy to find his father, even if it was Darth Vader.
8. "According to the OC Weekly, he's pretty much everything that's wrong with western civilization, all wrapped up in one guy." This quote is said about Caleb, but who said it?

Answer: Lindsay

Lindsay is telling Ryan that she A9.com'd Caleb the night before this conversation took place. She was interested in Caleb Nichol and decided to research him on the Internet. A9.com is a subsidiary of Amazon.com launched in 2003 and is dedicated "to research and build innovative search technologies."
9. Caleb says, "I haven't always been the best father." Who agrees with him?

Answer: Kirsten

Caleb says this to Kirsten when they are talking about Lindsay and the affair that led up to it. Kirsten is still mad at Caleb and doesn't hesitate to agree with him.
10. "Sorry, I would have introduced you guys but I didn't want you to meet." Who says this?

Answer: Alex

When Jody and Seth meet for the first time, it's obvious that they're sizing each other up. Alex was trying to keep those two parts of her life separate so she could handle everything on her own. At this point, she gives up and decides to go back inside, leaving Jody to shut the door in Seth's face.
