The sixth leg of the race ended in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan, and that's where teams left off. Opening their clues at the Boulevard Esplanade Estakada, they were informed that they would be heading to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania for this leg. To get there, the remaining six teams flew Nariobi, Kenya and then onwards to Kilimanjaro from Baku and then transferred onto an additional charter flight at the Arusha Airstrip.

There were three flights, each leaving a forty-five minutes apart; two teams went on each flight.

When teams touched down in their charter flights they discovered that they were in Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, they needed to choose a local driver and a jeep and make their way through the wilderness to the eastern edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. Once they located the marked Masaai warrior they would receive their next clue and a bicycle. Teams used their driver through the entirety of this leg of the race.

Arriving at the crater, teams needed to ride their bicycles down to Soneto Village, don local clothing, and complete a Detour task. In 'Marksmanship', teams needed to use a rungu, a wooden weapon, to hit one moving target each. When both team members finished this they received their clue.

In 'Courtship', teams needed to join with the local Maasai tribes-people and perform a jumping ceremony known as an adumu for one solid minute. After the Detour, teams needed to bike back up to their drivers. 'Marksmanship' was completed by Art and JJ, Rachel and Dave, and Vanessa and Ralph. 'Courtship' was completed by Brendon and Rachel, Mark and Bopper, and Nary and Jamie.

Answer: A campsite

When teams returned their bikes after the Detour they needed to direct their drivers to the nearby Simba Campsite on the western rim of the Ngorongoro Crater where they would need to work together to create their sleeping quarters for the next Pit Stop.

This involved accumulating a heavy bush tent and its amenities as well as a fully-functioning portable shower. When the team had successfully constructed the entire set to the satisfaction of an attendant they would be able to receive their next clue.

Completing their campsites, the teams were allowed to take their drivers and head to the seventh Pit Stop of the race near the Simba Campsite overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater. Having worked together well for the final task, Rachel and Dave were able to pull ahead of the earlier flight to take a second victory (their fourth overall).

They won a trip for two to Costa Rica courtesy of Travelocity. At the end of the leg, Nary and Jamie fell behind due to a mostly-physical final task. Upon arriving at the Pit Stop they were told that it was a non-elimination leg.

Departing from the Simba Campsite on the edge of Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning, teams were treated to a ride through the crater on safari to see many examples of the local wildlife. When the safari finished they needed to direct their drivers to Keratu to find a roadside stand with the name Hillary Clington.

This is where they found their Detour task. For 'Air Supply', teams needed to use a bucket of water to locate the leaks in a bicycle tire, then use local materials to mend it and place it back on the bike.

This task was completed by Bopper and Mark, Rachel and Dave, Brendon and Rachel, Vanessa and Mark, and Nary and Jamie.

For the second detour task, 'Water Supply', teams needed to wait in a long line to a well and fill a cart full of empty jugs to deliver to a local household. Teams had no control over their line. Art and JJ completed this task. After the Detour, teams headed to the Jack Stelzer Pub to find a Double U-Turn.

This was used by Art and JJ to U-Turn Brendon and Rachel (forcing them to complete 'Water Supply') and also by Brendon and Rachel to U-Turn Vanessa and Ralph (forcing them to complete the same task).

This was the only U-Turn used in the race. After this was complete, teams could move on.

After the Detour and Double U-Turn, teams traveled to the local Gem Gallery & Arts shop in Karatu where they located a new Route Info clue. Nary and Jamie, who placed last during the previous non-elimination leg, were required to head to their Speed Bump task at this location.

This required that they create an art display using a single picture as their guide. When they finished this to the approval of a local artist, they would be able to continue on with the other teams.

After arriving at the Arts Shop in Karatu, teams needed to make their way to the village of Mto wa Mbu to find Margaret's Farm, an apiary in the African countryside. There, one member from each team was selected to complete a Road Block task in which they needed to don a beekeeper's outfit and collect approximately a pound of fresh honeycomb from active beehives.

This task was completed by Dave, Mark, Art, Rachel, Ralph, and Nary before they received their final clues for the leg.

After the Road Block task, teams were told to proceed on foot through the nearby forest to the eighth Pit Stop on their race course: Lake Manyara. This Pit Stop would rest at a lookout on the shore of the beautiful waters at the edge of Mto wa Mbu. Bopper and Mark were the first to step on the mat in this leg of the race (for their first win) and they ended up receiving a trip for two to Hawaii courtesy of Travelocity.

In the end, Nary and Jamie were unable to overtake the other teams after their late start and Speed Bump task.

They became the sixth team eliminated from the race.
