Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How old was Laura when she married Rob Petrie?

Answer: Seventeen

Laura lied on their application for a marriage license (in keeping with her USO application misinformation). They 'married' again in one of the episodes to appease actuaries.
2. Buddy Sorrell's wife, Pickles, was a performer before she married Buddy. What was her job?

Answer: Showgirl

Pickles was actually played by two actresses, Barbara Perry and Joan Shawlee, even though their appearances were few in the series.
3. How much money did Rob lose in a billiard game in his basement with Buddy's brother "Blacky"?

Answer: $300

Blacky, a former pool hustler, married into millions, so he no longer needed to hustle. That's how many of us break bad habits, eh? Well, not the millions part.
4. Jerry Helper, the Petrie's neighbor dentist, was played by Jerry Paris, also held another "role" in connection with the show. What was it?

Answer: Director

Jerry directed a number of other shows as well, including some 200 episodes of "Happy Days".
5. The neighbors were going to put on a variety show including a mini-play, with Marc Anthony and Cleopatra. What actor was first going to play Marc Anthony?

Answer: Bob Crane

Bob Crane was also on "Hogan's Heroes"... too many tragedies out there. Thanks for the good times.
6. A young singer/actor portrayed the character Randy Twizzle in one episode. Who was he?

Answer: Jerry Lanning

Jerry Lanning has performed for years on stage with some film work. He is still going strong with that voice in the 2010s.
7. Alan Brady was married. What was his wife's name?

Answer: Margaret

That was a good scene where she was mentioned (not seen) as Alan was talking in his sleep and saying another woman's name!
8. Mel Cooley was married. What was his wife's name?

Answer: It was never mentioned

Her first name was never mentioned in the show; she was just Mrs. Cooley. Her last name used to be Brady though! She was Alan's sister. Take that, Batman.
9. In "Coast to Coast Bigmouth", my favorite episode, Laura Petrie suggested a use for Alan Brady's useless toupees. What did she offer as an alternative for what Alan may do with them?

Answer: Give them to needy bald people

"Needy bald people! Ha-ha-ha...Laura, you're a nut!", said Carl Reiner as Alan Brady. I love Carl in this episode. Perfect writing, in my opinion.
10. Most people remember that Laura Petrie's name transitioned from the early episodes from Lori to Laura. Many do not recall that her maiden name in the show was also changed after a time. It started out as Meeker. What was the new name?

Answer: Meehan

Apparently for reason of comfort, understandably, the name was changed since the original maiden name of Meeker was the last name of her husband, but they had recently divorced... thus, Meehan!
