1. In the very beginning, whom does Young Jolyon leave his wife for?

Answer: Helene

It was a huge scandal- she was the governess of his daughter June, and they ran off together to live in sin and they later had two children.

2. How many children does Young Jolyon have?

Answer: 4

Yes, the first is obviously June with his first wife Frances. Then he had Jolly and Holly with Helene (they got married after the children were born). And then he had Jon with Irene a month after they got married (obviously it doesn't add up, but you know...).

3. Whom does Soames fall in love with?

Answer: Irene Heron

She doesn't love him but agrees to marry him because she's destitute.

4. Who does June plan on marrying?

Answer: Phillip Bosinney

She was so in love with him, but then he jilted her and left her heart-broken.

5. Who does Irene fall in love with?

Answer: all three of these

Not all at the same time, but she does fall for each of them, much to Soames's displeasure.

6. Who is Winifred Forsyte married to?

No, she's not one of the spinster aunts. Winnie marries Monty (or Dartie as most call him). He's not a very nice person- he steals the pearls he gave Winnie when she had their first baby and gave them to a "dancer".

Answer: No

June does not get married but Holly gets married while she's in SOuth Africa- to Val Dartie, her cousin! I just find that sick and wrong on so many levels.

Answer: Yes

Well of course he'd have to- she married Young Jolyon. But he also got remarried and eventually had a daughter.

9. Who had a daughter named Fleur?

Answer: Soames and Annette

Winnie and Dartie have Imogen, and Jolyon and Helene have Holly. Annette is Soames's second wife and Fleur is their only child (after a difficult birth she was told she'd never have any more children). Irene wouldn't have a child with Soames- she refused.

10. Which of Young Jolyon's loved ones does not die over the course of the first series?

Answer: his daughter

June and Holly are very much alive. Jolly dies (but not Jon), and both Frances (who he cared about) and Helene but, but Irene didn't. And his father did die and left money to Irene, which vexed Soames.
