1. What do all the men Irene loves have in common?

Answer: June loved them first

Soames did hate them later on, but not initially. June was very distressed that they "all loved her more." She and Irene had been best friends and they whole man situation caused a very big rift.

2. During the Boer War, how many Forsytes joined to help the cause?

Answer: 4

Holly and June joined as nurses. Jolly and Val Dartie joined as a dare/ test to prove Val's love for Holly. Jolly died after getting sick and Val was wounded.

3. Where do Val and Holly move after they're married?

Answer: South Africa

People were needed there so they decided to go.

4. Where did Soames frequently meet Annette?

Answer: a restaurant

She and her mother owned it at first, but Soames bought it before he married Annette.

5. What did Young Jolyon do for a living?

Answer: painter

I don't remember what he did at first, but it might have been a solicitor- it seemed that's what his whole family did.

It was so sad- it just before he and Irene were going to start a life together.

He and Irene were going to run off together, but they didn't quite make it. And he could have made a good living but the suit from Soames messed all of that up. Plus he was killed, but...
