In this episode, the gang heads up to the Hamptons to see their friends' new baby. On the way, Kramer, Jerry, and Elaine discuss the fact that George and his girlfriend are going away on their first weekend together, and they discuss Rachel's father.

In the previous episode, "The Raincoats", Jerry was forced to stop seeing Rachel because they were caught making out during "Schindler's List". Luckily, Jerry was able to patch things up with Rachel's father.

When the gang arrives in the Hamptons, they decide to sit outside to soak up the sun. When Elaine goes outside, she's wearing a huge bonnet which basically covers her entire face from sunlight. She also wears a long dress. Meanwhile, while George goes out to buy Hamptons tomatoes for his mother, the other three catch a glimpse of Jane without her bikini top on.

This is the second time that Carol tells Elaine and Jerry to come and see the baby. When they're invited into its room, they find that the baby is hideous, and they try to cover up the fact that they find it disgusting. After seeing the baby, both Elaine and Jerry need to take a breather.

While Elaine and Jerry see the baby for the first time, Kramer decides to go to the beach. After trying to find treasure with a metal detector and getting kicked off of a lifeguard stand, Kramer heads to some rocks and pulls up a lobster trap. When walking to her room, Elaine stumbles upon the baby's room again where Carol is talking to Adam's pediatrician, Dr. Ben Pfeffer. Elaine thinks he's handsome and chats with him, and Ben says that Elaine is breathtaking. Elaine finds this flattering, but when Ben uses the same word to describe the hideous baby, she starts to think that something's wrong.

Although Jerry and Elaine agreed that the situation was too bad for George to know about, Kramer had no idea, and when he returned from getting the lobsters, he told George that everyone had seen her. After talking to Jerry, George felt that the only way to make things right was to see Jerry's girlfriend, Rachel, naked.

When George makes an attempt, he fails, and he has to make a phony story about it. Soon, the tables are turned, and Rachel accidentally walks in on George when he's changing.

At dinner, everyone is eating Kramer's lobster except for Rachel because she's kosher and she can't eat shellfish. While Jerry and Elaine try to keep Carol from bringing the baby to the table (which doesn't work), George tries to talk to Rachel about 'shrinkage'.

After dinner, Elaine talks to Dr. Pfeffer outside in order to determine whether or not he finds the baby good-looking. Elaine attempts to talk about different subjects in order to see what adjectives he would use, and in the end, she's still confused because Dr. Pfeffer says that 'breathtaking' is a word that one uses so that they don't make someone feel bad. Elaine still doesn't know whether he's talking about her or the baby.

When Rachel tells Jane about George's 'shrinkage', she decides to leave and go back to New York. Jerry and George know she's responsible, and in the end, George ends up cooking breakfast for Rachel. In order to get back at her, he cooks her meal with lobster in it.

In the end, Kramer is picked up by the police for taking the commercial lobster trap, so he's forced to work picking up trash on the side of the road. Meanwhile, George does see Rachel naked, and on the ride home, he gets a Hampton tomato thrown at him.
