Lochlyn Munro played the mobster, "Fat Tony" Lucarelli, in "Mr. Monk Meets the Godfather." In "Mr. Monk Gets Cabin Fever" Josh Stamberg played FBI Agent Grooms.

Randy tells Captain Stottlemeyer he was in the band in order to get the Captain to sing carols with him. In "Mr. Monk Goes to The Dentist" Randy restarted the band and suggested changing the name to The Randy Disher Experience. KoRn appeared aboard a tour bus in "Mr. Monk Gets Stuck in Traffic." Randy and the Dishettes was never a part of the show.

Tommy Graser was the toddler who found the finger in "Mr. Monk and the Kid."

In the same episode Mr. Monk observes a compulsive parrot in the pet shop. Tony Shalhoub costarred with a parrot in the movie "Paulie." The cat belonged to Cora in "Mr. Monk Bumps His Head." And Darwin, the chimp, was in "Mr. Monk and the Panic Room."

Purnell, Wyoming is where he lived in "Mr. Monk Bumps His Head."

Dr. Charles Kroger is Mr. Monk's Psychiatrist. Captain Leland Stottlemeyer of the San Francisco Police Department often calls upon Mr. Monk to help solve difficult cases. Natalie Teeger, Mr. Monk's personal assistant, is another regular character. She replaced Sharona Fleming. Tony Shalhoub has never been a character on the show.
