Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This is the ship that started it all. Capable of warp five, the NX Enterprise is the one that explored the galaxy for the first time. Who was her captain?

Answer: Admiral Jonathan Archer

It was Admiral Jonathan Archer, the son of Henry Archer, the copilot of the Phoenix, and co-inventor of the warp core which was designed by Zefram Cochrane. Archer is the one who got the Federation started introducing us to all of the races that form the Federation that we know and love today.

The Vulcans, the Andorians, the Tellarites, the Orion, the Xindi, and all the other races that form the Federation. His five-year mission was the event that started the Federation and is the basis for the series "Enterprise".
2. NCC-1701 is the ship that we all know and love; the legendary Enterprise. Who took over the ship when it went in for a two-year maintenance cycle?

Answer: Captain Willard Decker

Decker commanded the Enterprise during the refit and he was extremely bitter towards his commanding officer James T. Kirk. It mostly had to do with the death of his father who is killed by the Planet Eater two years before the refit began, and Kirk's decision to allow Decker's girlfriend Ilia on board.

The Vger incident changed everything and ultimately lead to him and Ilia being assimilated. We don't know much about what happened he could be a Borg and there is still stuff that we do not know.
3. On Stardate 3141.9 The Enterprise picked up this villain known as the "Augment Dictator of the Galaxy" and marooned him on Ceti Alpha V 30 years later on Stardate 8330.3 in the movie named after him he attacked them. Who is this villain that Kirk picked up in "Space Seed", and marooned on Ceti Alpha V?

Answer: Khan

Khan Noonien Singh the "Augment Dictator of the Galaxy" himself. From 1992 to 1996 Khan took over one quarter of Earth. When he was overthrown, he was put inside of a DY-100 class cryo pod known as the Botany Bay, and launched into space to die. Kirk found Khan, revived him, taught Khan about the 23 century, and introduced Khan to Marla McGivers. Khan then seized control of the Enterprise and tried to kill Kirk, but Kirk stopped him. Because of this Kirk marooned Khan & Marla McGivers on Centi Alpha V and there Khan remained for 30 years. One day a rogue planet known as Centi Alpha VI exploded turning Centi Alpha V into a wasteland and killing Marla. By accident Chekov breached Starfleet quarantine and landed on Centi Alpha V, and freed Khan from his prison. Khan and his crew vowed revenge on Kirk, and attempted to steal the Genesis Torpedo to use it on their planet to rebuild it and to kill Kirk. Khan's plan was foiled, and he blew himself up while trying to kill Kirk with the Genesis Torpedo.

It came at a cost though. Khan also killed Spock when he disabled the warp core aboard the Enterprise by causing main engineering to be flooded with radiation, which ultimately killed Spock when he attempted to go inside the warp core to repair it.
4. What happened to the Enterprise when it arrived on the Genesis Planet?

Answer: It was destroyed by self-destruct

The Enterprise was destroyed by self-destruct. Realizing that he was beaten but not out, Kirk chose to destroy his own ship rather then risk it falling into Klingon hands who sought the test data from the Genesis Torpedo stored in the computers. Here are the self destruct codes. "Computer this is Admiral James T Kirk request security access". James T Kirk identity acknowledged. "Computer Destruct Sequence 1 Code 1-1A." Destruct Sequence 1 Code 1-1A. "Computer this is Commander Montgomery Scott Chief Engineering Officer Destruct Sequence 2 Code 1-1A-2B". Destruct sequence two code 1-1A-2B. "Computer this is Commander Pavel Chekov Acting Science Officer Destruct Sequence 3 Code 1 B2-B-3". "Destruct Sequence completed and engaged awaiting code for one minute countdown". "Code Zero Zero Zero Destruct Zero". "Destruct sequence is activated".

This is the only time in Star Trek history that self-destruct was not aborted. NCC-1701 blew up taking those stinking Klingons with her as she entered the atmosphere of the Genesis Planet and was destroyed.
5. Enterprise A was commissioned a year after NCC-1701 blew up. What was her first mission?

Answer: The Nimbus III Hostage Situation

Her first mission was ultimately also her first battle. After a Shakedown Cruise, Starfleet Engineers took her apart and Scotty had to put her back together. She was rushed back into service when the Galactic Army of Light attacked Nimbus III, and Vulcan terrorist Sybok brainwashed everyone in believing something called Sha Ka Ree.

In reality it was not the fabled Vulcan planet, but an unknown planet in null space where Q sealed away an alien known as The One for altering time and destroying the Tkon Empire. Sybok tried to release him by bring him a starship so he could escape from the barrier that Q placed on him. Kirk and Spock managed to destroy him, trapping him inside the barrier for good, and proving Sha Ka Ree is a myth made up by Sybok.
6. In 2293 Enterprise A went on her final mission to help sign this famous document that brought the Klingons into the Federation. What is this famous document that was signed by Curzon Dax?

Answer: Khitomer Accords

The Khitomer Accords is the founding document that brought the Klingons into the Federation. The story of how it came to be is the plot of "Star Trek 6 the Undiscovered Country". Two months before the Khitomer Accords were signed Praxis the largest moon of the Kronos System exploded poisoning the atmosphere with lethal radiation, destroying the ozone layer, and polluting the oxygen on the planet Kronos. Sulu who at this time is now the captain of The Excelsior had to fly through the debris field of an exploding Praxis, and used the most complex maneuvering of a starship to avoid the explosion.

The Romulan Tal Shiar did not want peace between the Federation and the Klingons, and sent one of their agents Nanclus to stop it. He brought other agents into his service General Chang, Volaris, Colonel West, Burke and Samno, Admiral Cartwright, the Commandant of Rura Penthe, and the Chameloid Changeling Martia.

The plan of these conspirators was to assassinate Chancellor Gorkon, the President of the Federation, and Curzon Dax.

The plan almost succeeded, until Kirk and Bones busted out jail and caught the conspirators. After Chang was defeated, and Nanclus was disavowed by the Romulan government; Curzon Dax signed the Khitomer Accords with the Enterprise and the Excelsior crew watching. After the Accords were signed the Enterprise A went on one final mission and was later decommissioned.
7. On what Stardate was Enterprise B launched?

Answer: Stardate 9715.5

Stardate 9715.5 was the day the Enterprise B was launched it was also on this day that Kirk got sucked into the Nexis. 7412.6 was the day The Vger Incident happened, 8390.4 was the Whale Probe and the day Enterprise A launched. and 43625.2 is Yesterday's Enterprise.
8. The Enterprise-C was brought into the present in this "Next Generation" episode. What is it?

Answer: Yesterday's Enterprise

This would also be the reappearance of Tasha Yar. Everyone knows that Tasha was killed by the slime monster in "Skin of Evil." Because Enterprise C crossed into the present, Tasha Yar was brought back to life, and Worf became a member of the Klingon crew.

The Enterprise-C altered the timeline there were no Khitomer Accords, the Klingons were allied with the Romulans, the Battle of Narendra III did not happen, and the Battle of the Briar Patch also did not happen. To restore the timeline Tasha Yar was sent back into the past with the Enterprise-C and everything was returned to normal (almost).
9. NCC-1701 Enterprise-D was Picard's ship, but that would only be for a few years. Who killed the Enterprise at the Battle of Veridian III?

Answer: The Duras Sisters

It was Duras Sisters. The Enterprise crew and the Deep Space 9 crew consider them enemies and pirates. On Deep Space Nine they sold a Bilitrium bomb to Tahna Los before they got arrested and sent to prison. A year later they were caught smuggling magnesite, which the Enterprise crew used to destroy their cloaking device revealing their location.

Their final battle was on Veridian III, where they stole Trilithium Resin from the Romulans, and they and Soran used it to blow up stars on Amargosa and Veridian III.

Their plot was foiled when the Enterprise crew destroyed their ship, but it came at a cost the Duras Sisters overloaded the warp core on the Enterprise and blew up the ship forcing the crew to use the saucer module to crash on the planet's surface, where Enterprise-D was ultimately scuttled.
10. Enterprise E was the replacement for Enterprise D; when was it launched?

Answer: Stardate 49827.5

Enterprise E made its first appearance in "Star Trek First Contact" on Stardate 50893.5, where the Enterprise crew had to battle the Borg. It was also sent back in time to stop them. The Enterprise crew witnessed the event that would become known as First Contact Day, where Cochran made his famous warp jump and the Human species of the Federation met the Vulcans.
