"Casualty" first aired on September 6th, 1986 on the BBC channel and is set in the fictional city of Holby. "Casualty" reflects on life as part of a medical team (As a doctor, nurse or paramedic) who help save lives in Holby City Hospital as well as overcoming their personal problems.

Answer: Charlie Fairhead

Charlie Fairhead (played by Derek Thompson) is the Head Nurse at Holby City Hospital. He has appeared in most episodes and has had many exciting storylines; he has been shot, collided with a car, lost his wife (former character 'Baz') and just recently become a grandfather.

Just before the crash happened, a woman was drink-driving and nearly collided with the ambulance that Josh was driving. Josh cut through a red light and, according to Nikki, Fin looked worried about the speed which Josh was driving at. The car filled with teenagers was coming close from the side and the ambulance crashed, hanging off a bridge that trains passed under. Nikki expressed her concerns about Josh's driving to fellow paramedic, Jeff Maguire, who later told the police what she had said.

Lara, Nikki and Josh were held hostage by robbers of a Jewellery store, but Josh was freed to help the Jeweller's wife who was in a critical condition. Nikki and Lara were taken to a 30-story car park when the robbers were being chased by the police. As a result of the chase, Nikki was thrown off the side of the car park. Nikki survived the fall, and then left the hospital to go travelling.

Orlando Bloom appeared in "Casualty" twice in the years 1994 and 1996. Minnie Driver appeared in 1991 and Kate Winslet appeared in 1993 as a girl named Suzanne.

Answer: Sam Bateman

Sam Bateman is the son of Tess Bateman (Clinical Nurse Manager) and the former chief fire fighter of the Holby City Fire Department (Mike Bateman). His relation to Tess was kept a secret when he first worked at the hospital but was quickly discovered by the colleagues. Sam Bateman was played by Luke Bailey from series 19-21.

Simon was getting married to Lara during the last episode of the 18th series. Jim flew him to the marriage by plane, but they crashed in an open field. Simon got stuck in the plane as it caught fire and eventually exploded, resulting in his death. Jim was unharmed.
Harry Harper left "Casualty" to become a MP, Luke Warren left the show to help a boy called Sol coach a football team in Sierra Leone and Roxanne left to work with children.

In 1997, Josh's home was engulfed by flames, killing his wife and son. His daughter also died but in the hospital. Josh has been the victim of stabbing, he has been shot at and had been taken hostage with fellow workmates, Nikki and Lara.

Jim Brodie helped the pregnant midwife, Rosie Sattar, escape from the ED when it was in flames. She was impaled by a metal bar which luckily didn't damage the baby. Jim, Harry and Rosie were the last of the trapped people to cross an unstable path to reach safety, and Jim and Rosie were dangling on the edge and holding on to Harry who could only carry one of them. To save Rosie and the baby, Jim sacrificed himself and fell to his death.

Anna, Fin and Comfort were on the train as it crashed, though Anna was not with Fin and Comfort as she was on the phone to her boyfriend and brother, Merlin. Anna became trapped on the train when it crashed, and was eventually freed. In the 3rd episode of this series, Anna chose not to be put on a life-support machine, which upsets Merlin as she dies. Anna was first seen in series 15.
