Julianna Margulies' break-out role was as Nurse Carol Hathaway on "ER", beginning in 1994. She had the great fortune to appear opposite George Clooney who played Dr. Doug Ross.

From 2009 to 2016, Ms. Margulies was Alicia Florrick, the wife of the misbehaving state's attorney on "The Good Wife", backing him despite his indiscretion.

Answer: Felicity Huffman

The talented Felicity Huffman ("Transamerica") was one of the "Desperate Housewives", the poor, put-upon Lynette Scavo of Wisteria Lane.

From 1998 to 2000, there was a wonderful, sparsely viewed comedy/drama called "Sports Night". Ms. Huffman played the producer of the fictional sports show, and became arbitrator between the disputes between the two stars.

Answer: Jimmy Smits

One of the first true Latino role models, Jimmy Smits played Victor Sifuentes, one of the powerful attorneys on "L.A. Law", which ran from 1986 to 1994.

Jimmy turned up again as New York Detective, Bobby Simone, on "NYPD Blue", the hard-hitting cop show which aired between 1993 and 2005.

We first meet Michael C. Hall as David Fisher in the riveting drama "Six Feet Under" (2001-2005), where he plays one of the owners of a funeral home.

After that, it seems Mr. Hall decided to take life and death into his own hands, when he portrayed blood spatter expert and serial killer, Dexter Morgan on "Dexter" (2006-2013).

Answer: Alyssa Milano

I could have used Alyssa Milano's role as Samantha Micelli on "Who's the Boss?", but I went for her lesser known role as Jennifer Mancini, a character she portrayed on the steamy soap opera "Melrose Place", between 1997 and 1998.

Alyssa moved on from those roles to become one of a trio of witches, i.e., Phoebe Halliwell, on "Charmed" (1998-2006).

A few questions ago, I mentioned the poignant drama "Six Feet Under" (2001-2005), about a Los Angeles funeral home. Well, one of the other owners of the home, aside from David Fisher, was brother Nat Fisher, played by Peter Krause.

On season one of "Parenthood" (2010-2015), we were introduced to Adam Braverman (Krause), oldest child of Zeek and Camille, and caretaker of his three siblings. He also had a loving wife, a teenage daughter and a son with Asperger's syndrome.

Katey Sagal is one of the most prolific actresses on TV. Besides her roles as Peg Bundy and Turanga Leela, she played ruthless matriarch Gemma Teller Morrow on "Sons of Anarchy" (2008-2014).

Katey assayed the part of Cate Hennessy on "8 Simple Rules" (2002-2005), a program which had to deal with the untimely death of its star, John Ritter.

Patty and Selma Bouvier's favorite TV hero, MacGyver, the man who could turn a pen into a life-saving instrument, was played by Richard Dean Anderson from 1985 to 1992.

The hunky star (Anderson) was also the protagonist on "Stargate SG1" (1997-2007) and its subsequent franchises, where he went from Major to Colonel to Brigadier General Jack O'Neill, as he explored the Stargate network.

Answer: Claire Danes

Claire Danes has been the recipient of several Emmys, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards. All this started with her role as Angela Chase in the teen-age angst drama, "My So-Called Life", which only ran from 1984 to 1985.

Danes later went on to play the lead in the 1996 film "Romeo and Juliet" with Leonardo DiCaprio, and has been playing the part of CIA operative Carrie Mathison, on the hit show "Homeland", since 2011.

Lastly, we have Matthew Fox, an actor who rose to prominence on "Party of Five" (1994-2000), as the oldest of the Salinger siblings, who lost their parents in a drunk driving accident.

And then there was "LOST" (2004-2010), which was a drama which described how many fans felt at the end of the show's run. Fox played Dr. Jack Shephard, one of the survivors of the downed Oceanic Airlines Flight 815.
