"Yellowjackets" - The Pilot Episode Quiz

The Yellowjackets are a girls soccer team at Wiskayok High School in the state of New Jersey. The tv show is set in New Jersey, but is not filmed there. The pilot episode of season 1 was filmed in Los Angeles, California while the other nine episodes were filmed in British Columbia, Canada.

Jackie, the team captain, scored a goal and the Yellowjackets won 4-3 to qualify for the nationals, which were due to be held in Seattle, Washington.

Shauna got an acceptance letter from Brown University but hadn't told Jackie about it before the plane crash. Jackie thinks she and Shauna will be best friends for life and likes to tell Shauna what to do, such as what to wear, what boys to go out with, and where to go to university. Shauna clearly has other plans.

She's also sleeping with Jackie's boyfriend Jeff and plans to attend a university in another state so she'll sleep with who she wants, wear what she wants, and go to university where she wants and she's right to.

Their teammate Allie will miss the nationals because Taissa broke her leg in a practice game. Allie freezes in big games and Taissa was worried she'd wreck their chances of winning the nationals so said they had to do something about her. It was a hard and unnecessary tackle.

At the party in the woods Shauna confronted Taissa and accused her of injuring Allie on purpose. Taissa is adamant it was not on purpose so a loud fight breaks out with all the teammates taking sides. Jackie, as team captain, pulls them aside and calms them down and they are soon friends again. Misty wasn't invited to the party but probably turned up anyway because Natalie who was high on drugs at the time sees her in the distance and calls her name, but she then disappears.

On the plane with Head Coach Martinez are his two sons Travis, who is around 16 or 17 years old, and Javi, who is around 13 years old. Travis doesn't seem happy he has to go away with his father.

Their high school is in New Jersey and the soccer tournament they were travelling to, the nationals, was taking place in Seattle, Washington. The pilot made an in-flight announcement to the passengers that he wanted to avoid an incoming storm system so he planned to fly further north over the Canadian Rockies. It was a private jet hired by team player Lottie Matthews' father.

We see three of them: Natalie, Shauna and Taissa. Misty survived the plane crash too and is also seen in 2021, but she wasn't a soccer player on the team. Misty was on the plane because she was the team's equipment manager.

Jessica tells Shauna she works for "The Star Ledger" newspaper, which is actually the name of a real newspaper in New Jersey. Jessica is in fact a private investigator hired by Taissa. Taissa is in the middle of a political campaign. She's hoping to be the next Senator of New Jersey in an upcoming election. She wants to make sure no secrets will come out now that could damage her chances of winning the election.

Jessica offered all the survivors a 7-figure amount which is at least 1 million dollars and despite some of them looking like they need the money, they all turned down her offer of a book deal to tell the real story of what they did to survive for 19 months out in the Canadian wilderness.

Shauna is unpacking her grocery bags in her kitchen while talking to the fake Journalist Jessica Roberts. That edition of "Us Weekly" has a story "Little Girls Lost - Where are they now? 25 years later: Remembering the Yellowjackets tragedy".

Jessica is clearly referring to that story when she mentions to Shauna about other people making money off "their story" so why not make money herself by accepting the book deal. It doesn't work. Shauna takes the magazine out of the bag and hides it. She is not interested in writing a book about the Yellowjackets' time in the wilderness.
