Answer: The Dukes of Hazzard

"The Dukes of Hazzard" aired in CBS from 1979 to 1985. The series took place in the fictional Hazzard County in Georgia. The main protagonists were the "Duke Boys", cousins Bo and Luke, their female cousin Daisy and their uncle, Jesse. The car "General Lee", a trademark icon of the series, is well-remembered partly because of the Confederate battle flag painted on its roof.

"The Waltons" aired in CBS initially for nine seasons in the 1970s, with NBC releasing three sequel seasons in the early 1980s and CBS continuing with three more in the early 1990s. The series was set in Virginia (in the fictional Jefferson County) in the time of the Great Depression, later covering World War II, as well.

Answer: I Dream of Jeannie

The sitcom "I Dream of Jeannie" aired from 1965 to 1970, running for five seasons and 139 episodes. It starred Barbara Eden as a genie (with the homophone name Jeannie) trapped in her bottle for more than 2000 years and Larry Hagman as an astronaut who found the bottle and became Jeannie's master, and fell in love with her.

"I Love Lucy" was a sitcom running from 1951 to 1957. It dealt with Lucy Ricardo (portrayed by red-haired actress Lucille Ball), her husband Ricky (portrayed by Desi Arnaz) and their relationships with their family and neighbors.

"The Thorn Birds" aired on ABC in 1983. It was based on the novel with the same name by Colleen McCullough and starred Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward. The series was very popular, ranking only behind "Roots" in popular rating.

"North and South" was broadcast on ABC in 1985, 1986 and 1994. It dealt with the relationships and conflicts between the industrial North and the rural South in the antebellum period, the Civil War and touched the aftermath. The first two installments were met with huge success, while the third was largely a disappointment.

Answer: How the West was Won

The miniseries "How the West Was Won" aired in 1977 in the US. It was loosely based on a 1962 film with the same name. While its reception in America was somewhat lukewarm, in Europe it met tremendous success, being rebroadcast in several European countries.

Answer: Little House On the Prairie

"Little House on the Prairie" was an adaptation on the "Little House" books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It was set in the late 19th century in the post-Civil War United States, predominantly in Minnesota, with some parts set in Missouri.

Answer: Bewitched

"Bewitched" was broadcast in ABC from 1964 to 1972. It revolved around a sorceress's marriage to a normal man and her attempts to lead her life as an ordinary housewife, while her magical family tried to thwart her efforts.

Answer: Shogun

"Shogun" aired in 1980. It dealt with Japan in the 1600s, focusing mostly on the civil war that put Tokugawa Ieyasu to the Japanese throne as the most powerful Shogun ever and the adventures of the first Europeans who reached the country.
