Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who freed the Joker and the other bad guys from Arkham Asylum?

Answer: Harley Quinn

After holding the mayor of Gotham hostage, Joker was taken (by Batman) to the high-security Arkham Asylum's Intensive Treatment ward for imprisonment but, unbeknownst to Batman and the police, a series of intricate plans was already underway. After a fire at the Blackgate facility, many of Joker's men were transferred to Arkham Asylum, and when the evil Harley Quinn kidnapped the warden and freed the Joker, Arkham went wild.

It was up to Batman to put an end to the supercriminals' reign and prevent them from reaching Gotham City.
2. The altered Venom formula used to create Bane-like creatures was known by what name?

Answer: Titan

While searching for a kidnapped Commissioner Gordon, Batman will come across 'Patient X', who turns out to be Bane. Although machines are attempting to remove the Venom from his body, it's refilled with Venom, a new compound created by a certain Dr. Penelope Young.

Many of the villains in Arkham Asylum are after Dr. Young (who hides in Arkham Manor). With the amount of Titan in Joker's possession hiding in tanks in the Botanical Gardens, he has the power to create a thousand Banes.
3. How many Riddler Challenges can be found throughout the game?

Answer: More than two hundred

Throughout all of the island, Batman can locate two hundred and forty Riddler challenges placed in their spots by Mr. Edward Nigma himself. The Riddler will often give hints in the form of riddles to help Batman on his way with these, but many will involve intense scrutiny without the help of a little puzzle.

The Riddler's challenges include everything from question mark-shaped Riddler trophies, Interview Tapes, and chattering teeth. Each of these will give Batman more experience points. Aside from receiving trophies/achievements for collecting certain percentages of materials, it can be a real reward for the ultimate completionist to find everything.
4. Which of these villains makes an active appearance in this game?

Answer: Victor Zsasz

Although all of these character appear in the profile pages found by Batman over the course of the game, only Zsasz makes a major appearance, breaking free of the asylum when Joker begins his reign of the island to taunt the local guards. In Arkham Mansion, Zsasz holds Dr. Young hostage, planning to kill her if Batman so much as shows his face.

A Batarang to the head can solve this problem. Zsasz doesn't act as a problem anymore after this encounter. Neither does Dr. Young however, as she triggers a trapped safe which explodes, killing her before she can reveal the location of her Titan formula.
5. Does Batman have a Batcave on Arkham Island?

Answer: Yes

When the Joker frees himself and others from the Asylum and Batman sends Commissioner Gordon on his way via a boat to Gotham City, he decides to make a visit to an emergency Batcave he created under the island to get ready to face the onslaught. Visiting the Batcave, Batman can use his computer system to work on chemical compounds and locate important information.

Although he only needs to visit the Batcave on a handful of occasions (during the last of these it will be invaded by horrid Titan-infected plants) he'll need to do so to visit the Old Sewers and to claim his Ultra Batclaw.
6. Which of these gadgets is obtained latest in the game?

Answer: Line Launcher

Batman obtains the Explosive Gel earliest, specifically from the Batmobile parked in Arkham Easy and under attack by foes. The Batclaw is found in the Batcave on the first visit underground. The Batclaw can grab enemies and certain items (eg. gargoyles) and it's upgraded into the Ultra Batclaw late in the game.

The Cryptographic Sequencer is given to Batman by Warden Sharp in the Penitentiary; it's needed to open blocked-off doors protected by nearly-unhackable units created by Waynecorp. The Line Launcher is the last of these to be added to the arsenal; Batman uses it to cross long gaps on a horizontal line.
7. Where does Batman locate the Joker's secret lab?

Answer: Botanical Gardens

One of the last areas to be visited in the game, Batman will need to visit the Botanical Gardens on the urging of Dr. Young before her death-- this is where Batman must locate the Joker's secret labs in which he has created enough of the Titan gene to create an army.

After Harley Quinn releases Poison Ivy from a restricted cell in the Penitentiary, Ivy heads to the Botanical Gardens to protect her plants. Batman discovers that only Ivy's plant spores...deep in the sewers...can prevent Titan from taking hold of a host body. Of course, by the time Batman returns to the Gardens later on, Ivy's power has grown.
8. Which of these villains attacks Scarecrow?

Answer: Killer Croc

Batman encounters Dr. Jonathan Crane, the Scarecrow, on three different occasions, usually under the influence of hallucinogenic serums. When Batman is finally able to chase the Scarecrow into the Intensive Treatment facility basement, he'll need to stop him from dumping toxic materials into the waters beneath the island.

This is where Killer Croc, imprisoned in this area under the facility, makes a move, attacking Scarecrow and pursuing Batman while he tries to collect Ivy's plant spores, components of a Titan antidote. Batman later uses the antidote in the final battle.
9. Poison Ivy fights Batman outdoors on Arkham Island.

Answer: False

After Poison Ivy's plants are injected with Titan by the Joker, Batman is forced to face off against her in the Botanical Gardens along with her large Titan-infused flowers. Dodging spores and quick-growing vines, Batman can toss his Batarang to hit Ivy hanging up above (when she's visible) and, when she ends up crashing to the ground, he can use his Explosive Gel to put an end to the creature and stop plants from growing on the island.

This is the penultimate boss battle of the game.
10. Where does Batman complete his final battle against the Joker?

Answer: Penitentiary

At the end of the game, after Batman defeats the overpowered Poison Ivy, he'll be invited to a party at the Joker-marked entrance of the Arkham Penitentiary. He'll be cheered in by dangerous criminals and a battle will ensue featuring two strong Titan-powered creatures.

The battle will lead to the roof when Joker ingests the toxins himself, growing in size and using his forces to fight for him. Using the Ultra Batclaw and his tactics in battle, Batman can bring down the big, bad Joker and round up the criminals to bring calm to Arkham...at least temporarily.
