Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. First of all, let's address the Beatles pun in my quiz title. What is the maximum amount of people that can come together and play "The Beatles: Rock Band" cooperatively?

Answer: Six

All previous games in the "Rock Band" series have always featured a maximum of four people to be able to play cooperatively. With the addition of vocal harmonies in "The Beatles: Rock Band", that number had been bumped up to six. One player can do "solo" vocals while two players can do "harmonies". Drums, guitar, and bass are the other instruments that are playable in the game.
2. "The Beatles: Rock Band" was released on 9/9/09 to coincide with the release of The Beatles remastered studio albums. How many Beatles songs make up the soundtrack of the game?

Answer: 45

The 45 songs included on the game disc span all of The Beatles discography. At least one Beatles song from each of the 12 original UK albums and the US album "Magical Mystery Team" are present in the game. Even one song from the 2006 released remix album "Love" is present. "Abbey Road", "Rubber Soul", and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" have been made available in their entirety for download in "The Beatles: Rock Band" on all consoles since the release of the game.
3. The inclusion of instrument peripherals modeled after the instruments used by The Beatles helps the true Beatles experience of the game come to life. Which one of these gorgeous instrument controllers came with the limited edition premium bundle of "The Beatles: Rock Band"?

Answer: Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass

The symmetrical shape of the Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass caught the eye of Paul McCartney because he is left-handed; this allowed Paul to simply switch sides of the bass in order to still play with ease. Not only is the lovely Höfner violin bass included in the premium bundle, but a drum set resembling Ringo Starr's Ludwig drums are also included.

The drum set has an oyster black pearl finish just like Ringo's did. A Beatles drop-T logo kick drum head was also included to make the set look more authentic.
4. The overdrive feature in the previous Rock Band games underwent a name change in order to be more Beatles themed. What Beatles friendly name is the overdrive feature known as in "The Beatles: Rock Band"?

Answer: Beatlemania

Beatlemania works just like overdrive did in past "Rock Band" titles. Small sections of white notes (or yellow for vocals) appear in songs and successfully hitting all notes in a section fills your Beatlemania meter up. Once the meter is filled half way, it can be used to save a teammate that failed out of the current song and to double the value of notes being hit.
5. A black-and-white cutscene plays as the player begins Chapter 1 of story mode. The cutscene gives the year and location of The Beatles in their career. After the cutscene, what venue do you begin playing at?

Answer: The Cavern Club

"1, 2, 3, 4!" is the famous opening line in "I Saw Her Standing There" that opens up the cutscene. The year is 1963 and the location is Liverpool, England. The Beatles played nearly 300 performances at Liverpool's Cavern Club from 9 February 1961 to 3 August 1963.

The songs played at The Cavern Club in the game are "Boys", "Do You Want To Know A Secret", "I Saw Her Standing There", and "Twist and Shout".
6. Chapter 3 opens up with a montage of photographs showing the rise of Beatlemania accompanied with "Ticket to Ride" playing in the background. The short clip ends with an aerial view of the stadium The Beatles play at in Chapter 3. What stadium is this?

Answer: Shea Stadium

The concert at Shea Stadium kicked off The Beatles' 1965 USA Tour on August 15, 1965. 55,600 very lucky people saw The Beatles perform a 12 song setlist that night. Today, their first concert at Shea Stadium is regarded as one of the most famous music performances in history.

The Shea Stadium concert proved that large outdoor concerts could be profitable. The Beatles played a second concert at Shea Stadium on August 23, 1966. "Ticket to Ride", "I'm Looking Through You", "Eight Days a Week", "If I Needed Someone", and "I Feel Fine" are the five songs that consist of the Shea Stadium setlist in story mode of "The Beatles: Rock Band".
7. After playing through all of the concert venues in story mode, the majority of the songs in the last half of "The Beatles: Rock Band" takes place in Abbey Road Studios. Artistic scenery representative of Beatles songs known as "dreamscapes" are introduced to surpass the mundane look of a recording studio. In story mode, what is the earliest album to feature a dreamscape song?

Answer: Revolver

"Yellow Submarine", track number six on "Revolver", is the first song in story mode to feature a dreamscape and is the only song on "Revolver" that features a dreamscape. The dreamscape for "Yellow Submarine" features an underwater reef and of course a submerged yellow submarine, which is much inspired from the movie "Yellow Submarine".

The rest of the songs off of "Revolver" are played at the Budokan.
8. In story mode, there is an encore song after completion of all the songs played on the rooftop of the Apple Corps Headquarters. What is this encore song that marks the end of the story mode in "The Beatles: Rock Band"?

Answer: The End

"The End" was the perfect choice for the last song to be played in story mode because aside from "Her Majesty", "The End" is the last song on the last recorded album by the Beatles, "Abbey Road". "The End" features Ringo Starr's first and only drum solo on a Beatles song.

At first, Ringo was very reluctant towards doing a drum solo but changed his mind after some convincing from his bandmates. McCartney, Harrison, and Lennon play a rotation of three guitar solos during the "Love you, love you" backing vocals.

The dreamscape ends with the recording studio lifting up into a partly cloudy and blue sky.
9. After they broke up, The Beatles had accumulated a considerable amount of songs with animal names in their titles. Which animal titled song is not featured on the "The Beatles: Rock Band" game disc?

Answer: Rocky Raccoon

"I Am the Walrus" is the other song on the disc with an animal name in the title. The walrus that is mentioned in the song title is a reference from Lewis Carroll's poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter" from the book "Through The Looking-Glass". Some animal titled Beatles songs were covers: "Leave My Kitten Alone", "Three Cool Cats", and "Too Much Monkey Business". Animal titled songs penned by The Beatles began to appear during the album "Rubber Soul".

These songs in chronological order are the following: "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)", "And Your Bird Can Sing", "Blue Jay Way", "I Am the Walrus", "Blackbird", "Piggies", "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey", "Hey Bulldog", "Dig a Pony", "Octopus's Garden", and "Free as a Bird".
10. On the very fab day "The Beatles: Rock Band" launched, a song was made available for download on the Xbox 360, for a price. This song always takes me on a "Magical Mystery Tour" when I listen to it. What universally loved song am I talking about?

Answer: All You Need Is Love

Most of the proceeds from the song downloads were donated to Doctors Without Borders. After only two days of being available, the song became the fastest selling DLC in Rock Band history. "All You Need Is Love" was later made available for the PlayStation 3 on February 16, 2010 and for the Wii on March 4, 2010. "All You Need Is Love" appears on the American LP version of "Magical Mystery Tour". John Lennon wrote "All You Need Is Love" during the Summer of Love in 1967 and shortly after being written, The Beatles performed the song on "Our World", the world's first live satellite television production. "Our World" was broadcasted via satellite to 26 countries with an estimated 400 million viewers on 25 June 1967.
