The Heavy Tank is quite a powerful enemy when you may first encounter it, but they are defeatable at this point especially if you have put in plenty of training. You would have to travel back to do this however as you do not receive the Morph Materia till after you visit Gongaga for the first time.

You first meet Aeris after you blow the first reactor. She approaches you and you have a choice of replies. If you choose "You better get out of here." she says okay and leaves but if you say "Nothing. Hey listen." then you can converse with her and also purchase a flower from her for one Gil although it in not mandatory. If you buy a flower and answer her with the above line when you meet again she says "Excuse me but that's rude but I'll forgive you because you bought my flowers.". If you neglected to buy a flower earlier she responds the same without the forgiving part, whoops!

When you first meet Marlene in Tifa's bar Seventh Heaven (which is also AVALANCHE's hideout) she says "Welcome home Papa." when Barret walks in. However later in the game you meet up with Barret's old friend Dyne. After a short argument and fight they begin to talk again.

It is revealed that after Corel was burnt down (by Shinra's troops) Barret went back into the town and found Marlene (though he thought she was dead). The revelation that Dyne is actually Marlene's father comes up just before the battle between Barret and Dyne. Barret tells Dyne that Marlene is alive and Dyne replies with "So she's still alive? Well I guess that means you and I gotta fight." Barret replies with "What!" and then Dyne says "Eleanor's all alone by herself I have to take Marlene to her.". Eleanor was Dyne's wife and she died in the fire and Dyne was missing so Barret took over as Marlene's adoptive father.

Godo uses a number of powerful and status change attacks depending on which of his 'heads' (there are actually three) he is using. He can also use Bio magic and Cure 2. In this fight he can be VERY difficult to defeat. It all depends on how strong Yuffie is at the time when you challenge him.

Airbuster is the second boss you encounter in the game. If you attack his back with your Limit Breaks (Barret's and Cloud's) you can defeat him with just these two attacks. If you do not have your Limit Breaks he is still fairly easy to defeat by other means (the most effective way is to use physical attacks to his back).

All the other Enemy Skills in the game can be learned more than once except for this one. You can learn this Enemy Skill off the Dragon Zombie enemy in the Northern Cave towards the end of the game. If you miss learning it you will have to wait until you play through the game again.

The Turks (at this point) can be troublesome depending on how strong your party actually is. This fight can be complicated by having the Turks all absorbing different elements as using elemental Summons (Ifrit, Shiva, Ramuh and Kjata) or Magic (Ice, Fire, Lightning and some Enemy Skills) also if you are using Vincent his Level 1 and 2 Limit Breaks have an elemental attack which would heal either Reno or Rude if you used it. You should still have plenty of Summons, Spells and your Limit Breaks though that are non-elemental or ones that use an element that none of them absorb so there is plenty of different ways to subdue them!

You meet Cait Sith in the Gold Saucer and he makes sure that he joins your party. He joins as he has an ulterior motive which is that he is a spy for the Shinra. However Reeve does help the party a few times during the course of the game and Reeve is not that bad compared to other members of the Shinra Corporation.

To obtain Barret's Ultimate Weapon you MUST have him in your party on the stairs on the way up them to fight Hojo in Midgar. However after you have picked it up you can go back down the stairs to the Save Point and re-arrange your party line-up if you do not want to use Barret in the upcoming fight.

You receive Aeris' Ultimate Weapon in the Temple of the Ancients and it is called the Princess Guard. The reason for receiving this weapon so early in the game is due to her fairly imminent permanent death at the hands of Sephiroth soon after visiting the temple.

As for characters you have for the whole game Yuffie is the first character you can get an Ultimate Weapon for (the Conformer) as you can obtain it as a soon as you get the submarine. You can find the crashed Gelnika airplane and find it in a chest hidden in the back of the engine room. Cloud, Vincent, Barret and Tifa can get their Ultimate Weapons on Disc 2 or Disc 3. Red XIII and Cid have to get theirs on Disc 3 you cannot get them any earlier.

You can collect these items in any order but personally I obtain them in the order I listed above. When you exchange the Guidebook (which you obtain from using the Morph ability on a Ghost Ship enemy at the Underwater Reactor in Junon) you get the Underwater Materia which when equipped will eliminate the twenty minute time limit you have to destroy the Emerald Weapon. If you defeat the Emerald Weapon you receive the Earth Harp which can be exchanged for an awesome three-piece Master Materia set (Master Summon, Master Magic and Master Command).

The third item is the Desert Rose which you can win by defeating the Ruby Weapon and this can be exchanged for a Gold Chocobo. The Underwater Materia is useful if you want to defeat the Emerald Weapon as it makes the fight much easier (however it is possible to destroy her in under twenty minutes).

A three-piece Master Materia set speaks for itself an awesome prize! As for the Desert Rose by the time I have obtained this I have already bred a Gold Chocobo so it is of little use at this point of the game but the Ruby Weapon can supposedly be defeated without the coveted Knights Of The Round Materia but I have never done it that way myself.

When you use this Summon on the Weapon it causes very impressive damage but Ruby Weapon replies with a very strong magic attack of her own depending on how well you put up your defenses will decide whether you survive this devastating attack or not!

Answer: Apocalypse, Scimitar

The Apocalypse is a Sword that Cloud can obtain if you can get from one end to the other of the Ancient Forest next door to Cosmo Canyon it is in a chest in a cave that you enter in the final screen. Cid picks up his Triple Growth Weapon from a chest in the Underwater Reactor just before you hijack the submarine. Cloud's has three Materia slots and Cid's has two but they are useful for powering up Materia near the end of the game.

In each battle against the Movers they appear as small orange balls with tiny yellow eyes bouncing up and down in front of you. By this point in the game they should fall with relative ease and you will receive a fair sum of AP (the best in the game AP wise) for this rather undemanding confrontation. If you are using Armour or Weapons which have Double or Triple Materia Growth you can look forward to higher amounts of AP due to the multiplication ratio of the equipment you are equipped with.

Answer: Magic Pot

A Magic Pot must be given an Elixir before you can kill it. It is not a difficult enemy to defeat but it does give you a large amount of EXP (3000 per one but they sometimes travel in pairs which will net you 6000 EXP). As for having to give them your precious Elixirs you can just use the W-Item cheat so you will never run out and therefore can gain large amounts of EXP in a short time. If you have EXP Plus materia it will give you even more EXP which is a very efficient way of leveling up your party members.
