You don't get to find this out until the end of disk 3. Claire is Sarah Farron's sister and soon to be Snow's sister-in-law, and although she treats him like dirt through the majority of the game, she does actually care a great deal about her sister's future husband.

Hope wants to get revenge but is to afraid until Lightning gives him the inspiration to try and commit this heinous act. Not only does she give him the mental willpower to do so but she also hands him the weapon that is used.

For Vanille and Fang, this will be the second time that they have turned themselves into Ragnarok, but this time they decide to turn right at the last minute. In doing so, they save the whole of Cocoon by encasing Ragnarok in crystal and wrapping it round the entire world.

Snow Villers is the oldest member in his freedom fighting group NORA and is seen as a leader and father figure to most of the members. He decided to make this group because they were sick of the PSYCOM soldiers trying to purge the whole of Cocoon.

Sazh says this right at the beginning of the game. There is an Annihilator on top of the train that they are riding, and Lighting decides to go and fight this thing head on. Sazh has other ideas.
