"Final Fantasy XIII" for Experts [3] Quiz

This is part 3 of the "Final Fantasy XIII" for PS3 and 360 quizzes. The other two parts are not essential to play first, because the questions have no chronological order. I tried to make this part the hardest, so good luck!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. If you add all of the cie'th stone missions where you fight an undying mission (Including Zenobia), you get what number?

Answer: 225

The 7 marks for undying cie'th are 7 (Bituitus), 12 (Geisseric), 27 (Mithridates), 30 (Syphax), 34 (Zenobia), 51 (Attacus), and 64 (Vercingetorix). You do not actually fight Zenobia because a Tonberry hilariously kills it first, but the mark still counts as an undying killed.
2. There are two main branches to Cocoon's military, PSICOM and the Guardian Corps.

Answer: False

Those are two of the three main branches. The third, less noticeable and less remembered branch is the Cavalry, which Raines, Rygdea, and Fang are apart of.
3. Fill in the quote by Sazh: "You think you die and that's that? Hmm? You think you die and everything will be__________________?"

Answer: sugar and rainbows

Sazh says this while he is debating whether or not to kill her for being a liar and a coward. This part of chapter 8 is also called "Sugar and Rainbows".
4. Which enemy is a mandatory fight?

Answer: Wladislaus

The Wladislaus is the enemy in Orphan's Cradle with one arm. He has powerful strength and magic and he has roughly 750,000 HP. The Ochu and the Attacus are optional missions, and the Immortal is a powerful Pulse robot type enemy.
5. What class do the Dreadnought and Juggernaut belong to?

Answer: Pulse Armaments

These are the only two encountered Pulse Armaments. They both appear in the datalog, and they both use the attack "Wrecking ball".
6. The "Ceiling of Sky" is a subsection of what location?

Answer: Sullya Springs

The Ceiling of Sky is located right next to the submerged lake. This location houses the Fal'Cie Bismarck. Bismarck guards the water of Sullya Springs from intruders.
7. Complete the quote by Barthandelus in chapter 12: "Come l'cie, fulfill your_______."

Answer: destiny

Barthandules believes that the main characters' destiny is to summon the maker by destroying Orphan, and eventually Cocoon. This is also their focus, but they refuse it in order to save Cocoon any way they can.
8. If I want to travel from The Archlyte Steppe to the Faultwarrens, which direction should I be heading from the Central Expanse?

Answer: Northeast

From the central expanse, you need to head northeast because the Faultwarrens is located beyond the cie'th paling in the northeast corner. Heading South or West will lead you to the Highplain and to Mah'habarra.
9. Who kills Cid Raines in Eden?

Answer: Rygdea

The two behemoths kill Rosch, not Raines. Barthandelus uses Raines as his l'cie, and wouldn't directly have him killed. Raines wishes for Rygdea to kill him, and Rygdea obeys his superior. Raines, Rosch, and Nabaat are all killed, leaving Rygdea the only one to get promoted out of those side characters.
10. Add the two missions where you fight Neochu and her little babies. What is the total?

Answer: 101

The two mission marks for Neochu are 46 (Emergent Evolution), and 55 (Can't We all just get Along?). The Neochu is a very complicated and difficult fight, but if it appears to be too hard, spam death with Vanille.
11. Fill in the quote by Snow: "Lightning! I'll finish this focus, and keep ___________ safe. That's my promise."

Answer: Serah Farron

In chapter 3, Light and Snow find Serah trapped in crystal at Lake Bresha. Snow is dedicated to protecting Serah and Cocoon, but he also promises to band together and save the world. Light believes this is a joke, because Snow is all talk and doesn't show action.
12. Which l'cie completed multiple focuses for Barthandelus?

Answer: Cid Raines

Barthandelus branded Cid and made him a l'cie to serve him for eternity. Completing his focusses kept him alive, but failing one would lead to cie'th city. In the end, he decides to accept death.
13. After the main characters had their vision of Ragnarok and Cocoon, what did Snow believe their focus was?

Answer: To fight Ragnarok

Snow believes their focus is to fight Ragnarok and save Cocoon, but Sazh is more careful about his opinions. He believes because they were recruited by a Pulse Fal'Cie, their job would be to go against Cocoon, and for Pulse.
14. What is different about Barthandelus the third time you fight him instead of the second time. (What changes from the 2nd to the 3rd battle, other than HP and magic increasing).

Answer: He does not go through stages in the 3rd fight

In the second battle at the Rust Eaten Bridge in Oerba, Barthandelus starts with one laser, then he gains two heads, four heads, and finally four heads and himself. In the third battle, Barthandelus starts with four heads and himself from the start.
15. "Final Fantasy XIII" and its sequel are in a series. The series is mentioned in the datalog and in-game. What is the name of the series of Final Fantasy that "Final Fantasy XIII" is in?

Answer: Fabula Nova Crystallis

"Final Fantasy XIII-2" is also a part of this series. Fabula Nova Crystallis is Latin. It most closely translates to "The New Tale of the Crystal". This fits well with the theme of Cocoon, because many things revolve around crystals.
