Launch a Colour Revolution Trivia Quiz

This is a quiz about "de Blob", for the Nintendo Wii. It is one of the best games (in my opinion) to be released for this console. The player must restore colour the land of Raydia, and defeat the evil INKT Corporation.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "de Blob" is a remake, if you like, of a game created by a visual arts education institution from which country?

Answer: The Netherlands

"de Blob" is based on a game created by students at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands, entitled "The Blob". THQ, a major games publisher, was impressed with the game, and as such, acquired the rights to the game. Development started soon afterwords by Blue Tongue Entertainment.
2. Which country was "de Blob" developed in?

Answer: Australia

It was, in fact, developed in Melbourne, Australia, by Blue Tongue Entertainment. Blue Tongue created the game for the Wii, and Helixe released the game on the Nintendo DS.
3. Which of these is NOT a choice of mood?

Answer: Courageous

Before you start a level, you are prompted with several choices as the 'mood' of Blob during the level. These include: Blissful, Funky, Righteous, Euphoric, Smooth, Unstoppable, Fearless, Defiant, Brazen, Revolutionary, Victorious, and Energetic. When you begin the level, there is no music, but as you begin to paint the city, the music starts to play, adding sections as you complete tasks, until you are bouncing around, colouring everything in sight, to some funky tunes. My personal favourite is Unstoppable.
4. Who is the bad guy in charge of the INKT Corporation?

Answer: Comrade Black

Comrade Black dreams of getting rid of all the colour in Raydia, and making everything bland and grey. With an army of Inkies, nothing will stand in his way...except maybe a little blob.
5. Arty, Zip, Biff, and the Professor make up which revolutionary group?

Answer: The Colour Underground

Throughout each of the levels, there are challenges which require you to complete certain tasks within a time limit. Arty's challenges involve painting blocks of buildings in specific colours to liven up the city; Zip's challenges see you racing from one part of the city to another, following a series of marker flares; Biff's challenges require you to remove the Inky forces in a certain area; and The Professor needs you to transform landmarks from INKT bases back into their colourful glory. Completing each challenge rewards you with points and bonus time.
6. What are the citizens of Raydia known as when they are captured by INKT, and stripped of their colour?

Answer: Graydians

Graydians are the citizens of Raydia who are devoid of colour. INKT inkwashes them, and they live a sad, monochromatic existence, but if Blob can paint a series of buildings, they will be released, and can be restored to their joyful selves by a quick touch of paint.
7. Which of these is NOT a level in the game?

Answer: Raydia Dam

There are a total of eleven levels in "de Blob", including the final boss level which takes place upon Comrade Black's spaceship. The levels are: Last Resort, Uptown, Downtown, Chroma Dam, Guggentraz Island, The Docklands, Hanging Gardens, Chroma City Fun Park, Ministry of Ink, and Lake Raydia (and, of course, the final level set in space upon Comrade Black's spaceship, which I have lovingly dubbed 'The SS Inky').
8. What colour blob is achieved by mixing red, blue and yellow paint?

Answer: Brown

Blob can change colours by rolling into one of many Paintbots roaming the levels. Paintbots come in three colours - red, blue, and yellow, which, as you know, are the primary colours. By mixing red and blue, Blob can become purple; by mixing blue and yellow, Blob turns green; combining red and yellow makes Blob orange; and putting all three colours together will make him brown. Hidden around the level are objects called styles, which add patterns to painted buildings.
9. Why are Z-Jumps named Z-Jumps?

Answer: The player needs to hold Z when using them

Z-Jumps allow Blob to access areas of the city that the normal jump may not be able to access. By pressing Z on the nunchuk to target a jump pad, and then shaking the Wii remote to jump, Blob can quickly access parts of the city which are far away.
10. How many different types of INKT enemies are there (not including the main bad guy)?

Answer: Seven

The INKT forces will do anything to stop Blob and the Colour Underground. The regular Inky soldiers, Heavy Inky soldiers (armed with Inkpens), Jetbike Inkies (who will chase you down and ink you), Elite Inkies (who are the result of colour experiments, and as such can only be defeated with a certain colour), Inky Turrets (which will lock on and fire upon you), Inky Tanks (which will follow you and fire ink at you), and the Leechbots (these suckers will suck out your colour) are ready for you.

So what are you waiting for? Launch a colour revolution.

Thanks for playing!
