Throwing Pikmin on a Gatling Groink's tail will make it unable to shoot you. It will just attempt to shake the Pikmin off. However, after it shakes off all the Pikmin it be able will shoot you and your Pikmin, who will probably be scattered by the shaking.

Answer: Armored Cannon Beetle

The Armored Cannon Beetle is a boss in "Pikmin", and the Armored Cannon Beetle Larvae is a normal enemy in "Pikmin 2". While Wollywogs and their young, Wogpoles, both appear in-game, they appear in both "Pikmin" and "Pikmin 2".

Beady Long Legs, Emperor Bulblax, and the Burrowing Snagret appear in both "Pikmin" games as bosses. Beady Long Legs is the boss of the Forest Naval in "Pikmin" and the Citadel of Spiders in "Pikmin 2". Emperor Bulblax is the boss of the Final Trial in "Pikmin" and Bulblax Kingdom in "Pikmin 2" (Although some appear in the Cavern of Chaos and the Hole of Heroes too). Three Burrowing Snagrets are one of the two boss fights at the Forest of Hope in "Pikmin", and Burrowing Snagrets appear in The Valley of Repose, Awakening Wood, White Flower Garden, the Hole of Heroes, and the Snagret Hole in "Pikmin 2".

Answer: Impact Site

Wistful Wild resembles the Impact Site and the Final Trial from "Pikmin". The landing site in Wistful Wild is where Emperor Bulblax is fought in "Pikmin". The Dream Den is located where the first ship part, the main engine, was in Pikmin. Awakening Wood also has a layout similar to the Forest of Hope, and the Perplexing Pool has a layout similar to the Distant Spring.

Answer: Segmented Crawbster

The Segmented Crawbster is the boss of the Cavern of Chaos. Raging Long Legs is the boss of the Hole of Heroes, Empress Bulblax is the boss of the Hole of Beasts and Frontier Cavern (she also appears in the Hole of Heroes, but is not the hole's last boss), and the Wollywog isn't a boss.

Answer: Geiger Counter

The Burrowing Snagret holds the Geiger Counter. The Dimensional Slicer is a treasure in "Pikmin 2", the Gravity Jumper is found near the back of the Forest Navel, and the Space Float is held by a Breadbug in the Forest Naval.

Answer: Burrowing Snarrow

The Burrowing Snarrow does not appear in either game, but is mentioned in the Burrowing Snagret's portion of the Enemy Reel and in Olimar's notes on the Burrowing Snagret in "Pikmin 2's" Piklopedia. The Pileated Snagret was not discovered until "Pikmin 2". Tunneling Snagrets do not exist.

After defeating the Titan Dweevil and saving Louie, he is put in the ship's cargo hold as a treasure and labeled the "King of Bugs". Olimar's journal entry in the Treasure Hoard on the King of Bugs/Louie states that ever since then, Louie has requested to be referred to by his "proper" title, the King of Bugs.

Answer: UV Lamp

The UV Lamp is not needed for Olimar to escape the planet, as its only purpose was to give Olimar a tan and thus it has no relation to the Dolphin's ability to escape the Pikmin Planet. There are five parts that are not needed for Olimar to escape. These are the UV Lamp, the Nova Blaster, the Massage Machine, the Space Float, and the Secret Safe.

Answer: Louie ate a very valuable shipment of golden Pik-Pik carrots.

The "Louie's Dark Secret" cut scene, a reward for beating every Challenge Mode level without losing a Pikmin, reveals that Louie ate the carrots and put Hocotate freight in debt. He then told the President that the carrots were lost to a "ravenous space bunny".
