You and your friend start at Twinleaf Town and journey to Lake Verity via Route 201 to look for interesting Pokemon. Professor Rowan and his assistant are just leaving when you get there, but they've left a briefcase behind. When you are attacked by a Starly, you must use one of the three starter Pokemon (Chimchar, Piplup, or Turtwig) in the briefcase to defend yourself.

After the incident at Lake Verity, you track the Professor down to his lab in Sandgem Town, where he lets you keep your new Pokemon. At this time, you can go south onto the beach. The Antidote is behind a rock near the water.

It seems to be a recurring theme in the "Pokemon" games for your rival's second Pokemon to be the basic flying type you encounter very early in the wild. In "Pokemon Diamond" and "Pokemon Pearl," this Pokemon happens to be Starly.

A boy in the Condominiums in Eterna City will trade you his Chatot for a Buizel. Chatot first appears in the wild much later in the game, so this can be a good opportunity if you want one earlier.

If you didn't pick Chimchar as your starting Pokemon, then Ponyta is your only option to obtain a fire Pokemon in "Pokemon Diamond" or "Pokemon Pearl" before obtaining the National Pokedex. It can come in very handy against steel types you will meet in the game.

You infiltrate the hideout in order to free the three Mirage Pokemon that Team Galactic has captured. You do face Cyrus in battle, but this is the first time you do so, and he is a Boss instead of a Commander. You do not battle Mars and Jupiter again here.

Cyrus gives you the Master Ball after you defeat him in the Galactic Headquarters. It allows you to automatically capture any wild Pokemon, but you can only use it once. Being that you are facing a legendary Pokemon which is very hard to capture otherwise, this would be as good a time as any to use the Master Ball if you want to capture Dialga or Palkia.

Answer: Jasmine

Jasmine lead the Olivine Gym in "Pokemon Gold," "Pokemon Silver" and "Pokemon Crystal" for Game Boy. She came to the Sinnoh Region from Johto to meet new trainers and get stronger, and she gives you HM 07 (which lets you teach Waterfall to your Pokemon) if you have the Beacon Badge from the Sunyshore Gym.

Aaron specializes in bug types. Bertha specializes in ground types. Flint specializes in fire types. Lucian specializes in psychic types. Thankfully, you are able to use potions, revives, and the like to heal in between these powerful opponents.
