Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Guided by Edge, the voice in her ear, Nilin makes her escape from the fortress of La Bastille. In what does Nilin secrete herself to get out of the fortress?

Answer: A coffin

Just before Nilin has her memories wiped completely, Edge creates a distraction in the facility, giving her a few moments to scramble underneath a door and out of sight. However, the security system picks up on her and deploys a coercive unit to detain her.

After a close escape through an air duct, Nilin finds herself in a chamber where dead or otherwise mutated bodies are disposed of in coffins. Mustering her courage and choosing to trust the mysterious voice in her ear, Nilin quickly replaces a body in an open coffin with herself before the "assembly line" of coffins moves on and deposits her in a disposal chute, out of the facility and into the slums of Neo-Paris.
2. After fighting off groups of Leapers in the sewers of Slum 404 and emerging into the floating urban district of the slum, Nilin meets up with a fellow Errorist agent, Headache Tommy, at his bar. What is the bar called?

Answer: The Leaking Brain

As an Errorist Agent fighting against Memorize, Tommy was a former prisoner of La Bastille, having undergone the same memory wipe "treatment" as Nilin, though his time at the prison left him with some disfigurements. Luckily, he was able to escape with some of his memories, keeping his ties to the Errorist movement open. Due to her memory being almost entirely wiped in La Bastille, Nilin is unable to remember who Headache Tommy is when she reaches his bar, though she begins to trust him when he gives her her combat clothes and remixing glove and helps to fight off an oncoming assault of Leapers.
3. When Nilin remixes Olga's memories to change her allegiance and stop Nilin from being killed, she has to alter certain events within the memory. In the memory, Olga is undergoing a memory transfer procedure in the hopes of curing her ailing husband, David. Which of these alterations will kill Olga and lead to an unsuccessful remix?

Answer: Inverting the memory flux

In the memory, David is unconscious in an operating theatre, having Olga's memories added to his in an attempt to cure him of a certain sickness. When Nilin views the memory, she is able to interact with a number of "glitches" which may or may not have an effect on the ultimate outcome of the memory, depending on the glitch. For the remix to be successful, Nilin needs to activate three glitches.

She has to switch the sedative capsule produced from the dispenser, meaning Dr. Quaid injects David with the wrong substance.

She then needs to undo David's mask, cutting off the anaesthetic and bringing him back to consciousness. The final glitch requires unlocking the hand strap that keeps David restrained. If the memory flux between David and Olga is inverted at any time, it will lead to a memory bug; that is, a paradoxical ending in which Olga herself dies within her own memory.
4. Teaming up with Bad Request, another Errorist agent, in the Saint-Michel district, Nilin steals security access codes from the memories of the city's premier architect. Who is she?

Answer: Kaori Sheridan

Joining up with Bad Request in the Saint-Michel District, Nilin steals a memory from her fellow Errorist which allows her to view Remembranes placed in the world. These Remembranes are echoes of memories, allowing Nilin to view a recorded version of Bad Request who guides her along a route he scouted through Saint-Michel district to Kaori Sheridan's office.

As the architect of many of the city's most secure buildings, Kaori naturally knows the security codes for each of them, and that is exactly what Nilin wants: the security protocols for the Saint-Michel Dam.
5. In Episode 3, Nilin faces off against a robotic enemy called the AV-78. What other name does this foe have?

Answer: Zorn

The AV-78 Zorn cannot be hit by Nilin's regular attacks, so she must rely on the Spammer, the device given to her earlier in the game by Headache Tommy after defending his bar. Nilin needs to target the weak points on the Zorn's upper limbs with the Spammer's projectiles. Once the limb is sufficiently weakened, the Zorn will perform a leaping attack towards Nilin and get its arm stuck in the ground momentarily.

This is Nilin's cue to give it a full blast with the Junk Bolt Spammer to remove it completely.

This process must be repeated for the second arm. The third phase will see the Zorn release a wave of energy before pausing for a few moments to recharge. It is at this point that a structural weakness on its chest opens up and Nilin has a short amount of time to give it a blast with the Junk Bolt Spammer. If she succeeds, a prompt will appear to terminate the Zorn.
6. After a tense battle across the rooftops and surrounding buildings of the Montmartre district, Nilin steals security access codes from Captain Trace of the SABRE Force. What do the access codes allow Nilin to access?

Answer: Memorize Head Office

Stealing the codes from Captain Trace leads Nilin to view a Remembrane outside the door to the Memorize Head Office. This Remembrane sees Trace recounting a riddle which is used to determine the four-digit access code. Once she is inside, Nilin heads to the office of Scylla Cartier-Wells where she performs a memory remix. Once again, there is a memory bug that sees Scylla dying within her own memory when the car airbag does not deploy, but, of course, Nilin cannot successfully complete the remix if she encounters this bug.
7. When Nilin finds her father in the Conception Cube, she uses her abilities to remix a remix inside her father's memories. What memory does Nilin remix inside her father's mind?

Answer: Nilin and her mother in the car

Earlier in the game, Nilin remixes her mother's memory of them driving home on the motorway during Nilin's childhood. The original memory ends with the car crashing but the two surviving; her mother blames Nilin and her new robotic panda toy for distracting her.

When Nilin enters Charles' memory, he is remixing Nilin's memory (as a child). The memory is of her and her mother, Scylla, in the car accident. Nilin remixes the remix, causing the panda to short circuit and distract Scylla, but both Nilin and Scylla die. Exiting this memory and returning to her father's memory sees the young Nilin violently convulsing due to the memory bug. Nilin dies and Charles is horrified. Returning to the real world, Nilin confronts her freshly-remixed father and tries to convince him the Sensen project must be stopped.
8. Scattered throughout Neo-Paris are many collectibles and boosts. Scaramechs are the last of the four collectibles to be introduced. In which episode do Scaramechs make their first appearance?

Answer: Episode 3 - High Tension/Deep Exit

In Episode 1 (Low Life/Low Tech), Nilin can find Mnesist memories and SAT patches. Mnesists are short diary entries that provide background information about the world in 2085 and events before it. SAT patches are used to increase Nilin's health. Every five patches she picks up rewards her with another block of health. Focus boosts are introduced in Episode 2 (Macrowave) and reward Nilin with another block of Focus (which fuels S-Pressen moves) for every five boosts she collects. Scaramechs appear from Episode 3 onwards, but don't provide any perks for Nilin. Scaramechs are usually well-hidden and can be found by listening for their distinctive sound.

There are fifty-five to find and destroy across Neo-Paris.
9. Nilin uses fighting techniques called Pressens to take down enemies. In the Combo Lab, attack combos can be created using a variety of different Pressens. Which of these Pressens does not exist?

Answer: Critical

The most basic of the Pressens is the Power Pressen. Nilin is able to execute a simple attack, and these attacks with increase in power as more Power Pressens are added to the combo. The Regen Pressen allows Nilin to regenerate some of her health with every successful attack she lands.

The Cool Down Pressen rather aptly reduces the cool down of Nilin's S-Pressens by a small amount each time she hits with an attack. The Chain Pressen, when placed in a combo, amplifies the effects of the previous Pressen, moreso than simply adding an additional copy of the same Pressen. Furthermore, the further along the combo the Chain Pressen is placed, the higher its amplification effect will be. Chain Pressens can also be placed in succession, dramatically amplifying the effects of other Pressens.

For example, creating a combo with four Power Pressens followed by four Chain Pressens will result in a huge damage output as Nilin gets further into the combo.
10. S-Pressens are special moves which have a much stronger effect on enemies than regular Pressens. What does the Sensen RIP do?

Answer: Changes the allegiance of enemy robots

When under the effects of Sensen RIP (Rust in Pieces), robotic enemies will become friendly and instead target Nilin's enemies by either shooting at them or self-destructing near them. The Sensen Fury imbues Nilin with a temporary boost in power, allowing her to free-flow between nearby enemies and build up a substantial attack combo.

While in Sensen Fury, Nilin cannot use her available Pressens, but she can still jump over and dodge enemies. The Sensen DOS (Denial of Service) creates a shockwave that stuns all nearby enemies, leaving them vulnerable for a few moments. Nilin can then use this opportunity to get some good hits in or perhaps regenerate some of her health if she is a bit low.

The Sensen Camo turns Nilin invisible for a short time and allows her to walk around the theatre of conflict unnoticed.

A single attack from Nilin will break the camouflage and return her to normal. However, during this phase of invisibility, Nilin can approach an enemy from behind and perform a one-hit takedown, neutralising and removing them from the fight.

The Logic Bomb allows Nilin to plant an electronic explosive on an enemy that will harm the victim as well as those adjacent to it. When the bomb is planted, Nilin has just a few seconds to dodge out of the area-of-effect (indicated by a ring on the ground) before it detonates, else she might be hurt from it.
