Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many Red Rings are there to find in each act, excluding the boss acts?

Answer: Five

The Red Rings can be found in almost every act, and are used to unlock levels in Game Land. After collecting all 180 rings and completing every level in Game Land, you will unlock the Super Sonic ability.
2. What is the name of the first stage in the game?

Answer: Tropical Resort

There are eight stages in the game: Tropical Resort, Sweet Mountain, Starlight Carnival, Planet Wisp, Game Land, Aquarium Park, Asteroid Coaster, and Terminal Velocity. Game Land is optional, and contains numerous acts, primarily in 2D, which award Chaos Emeralds when completed. These, in turn, are used to unlock Super Sonic.
3. What power does the pink Wisp imbue upon Sonic?

Answer: Spikes

Each type of Wisp gives Sonic a certain power, and can be found at certain points in each act. Pink, blue, green, cyan, yellow, orange and purple give Sonic spikes, cube, hover, laser, drill, rocket and frenzy power, respectively. White Wisps simply allow Sonic to boost.
4. What is the name of the white Wisp that befriends Sonic and Tails?

Answer: Yacker

Tails tries his best to translate what Yacker says using his translator device, which sometimes comes out with silly phrases. Eventually, he gets it working properly, and Yacker has a way of communicating with the duo. In some parts of the world, a special edition of "Sonic Colours" comes with a Sonic figurine and some Wisps, one of which is Yacker.
5. How many extra lives appear on screen when achieving an S-Rank for an act?

Answer: 3

The time taken to complete the act and the amount of rings retained upon completion determines the final rank for that act. So, obviously, collecting many rings and finishing in a decent time will result in an A- or S-Rank. An A-Rank will reward you with one extra life, but an S-Rank will give you three.
6. What are Eggman's robot cronies called?

Answer: Orbot and Cubot

Eggman created Orbot and Cubot to basically serve him and do his bidding. Orbot is the more intelligent of the two, and doesn't like Eggman. Cubot is a bit dim-witted and lazy, but he appears to like Eggman.
7. Which of these control methods can't be used to play "Sonic Colours"?

Answer: All of these can be used to play the game

There are four ways of playing the game: with the Wii Remote by itself (held horizontally), with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, with the Classic Controller, and with a GameCube controller. If playing with two people, both players do not need to have the same control style in order to play.
8. The Hover Wisp is what colour?

Answer: Green

The Hover Wisp, funnily enough, allows Sonic to hover. When he passes near a string of rings, he can perform a special Ring Dash ability which will boost him along that path of rings. Like the other Wisps, the Hover Wisp has a limited dur
9. Where does the final fight against Eggman take place?

Answer: Terminal Velocity

In Terminal Velocity Act 1, Sonic is racing down the outside of the space station to reach Eggman and his Egg Nega Wisp. The boss fight then follows. When Eggman is defeated, the resulting explosion from his Egg Nega Wisp starts to destroy the station, and Sonic must sprint away from the growing explosion in Act 2.
10. "Sonic Colours" is the second "Sonic" game to feature the new voice cast (Roger Craig Smith replacing Jason Griffith, for example). What was the first game?

Answer: Sonic Free Riders

"Sonic Free Riders" was first released on November 4, 2010 in North America. Less than two weeks later, "Sonic Colours" was released in the same region (although Australia and Europe received the game earlier than NA). Both these games mark the introduction of the new voice cast.
