The 501st Legion were an elite clone unit commissioned by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in an attempt to end the Clone Wars sooner. Primarily commanded by Anakin Skywalker and CC-1119 "Appo", the 501st was one of the most feared clone units in the galaxy.

In the "Star Wars" canon, red markings are worn by Clone Captains, although here they represent Clone Sharpshooters. In the game, blue is for Heavy Troopers a.k.a. Advanced Recon Commandos (ARC Troopers), green is for Jet Troopers and yellow is for Clone Engineers

Chancellor Palpatine wanted the crystal to power up the superlaser in the first Death Star, and later on the second one as well. It was very important that the Jedi didn't find out about this, as it would make Palpatine suspicious to the Jedi and foil his plans of creating an Empire.

The hallways have a similar pattern in the Klegger Corp Mining Facility on Mustafar. Mustafar was the final known base for the Confederacy of Independent Systems, where Darth Vader stormed and killed the entire Council.

The Acklay are green spider-like insectoids with six legs. An Acklay can be seen in "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones" as the beast that primarily attacked Obi-Wan. The Rancor can be seen in the Jabba's Palace map. The Reek was the red, horned beast that attacked Anakin in that same scene. Gutkurrs are fierce creatures native to Ryloth, which the CIS enslaved for their own use.

The NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcers (known as Armored Tank Droids in the game) are the main problem in the protection of the Kashyyyk Oil Refinery. Single Trooper Aerial Platforms (or STAPs) are used by the droids to get across the water. Although the OG-9 homing spider droids appear in the campaign, they don't appear in the Kashyyyk map in Instant Action. Hailfire droids are only found on Geonosis.

The ending cutscene for "A Line in the Sand" show Wookiees getting killed by Imperial Stormtroopers. The First Battle of Kashyyyk was depicted in James Luceno's novel "Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader" when Darth Vader was on the hunt for fugitive Jedi. It was here that Commander 1119 (Appo) was killed, and that the Wookiees were enslaved to help build the Death Star.

Hangar 10 can be seen in "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" when Grievous watches the CIS Council leave for Mustafar. The game's version is similar, with the balcony where Obi-Wan jumps down from and the seats where the council sit on.
